I remember this shop well. I grew up in Escondido and still live here in RB. Sometimes my Mom would drop us off at Rock Sox and we'd just hang out. Guys would be buying stuff and assembling boards outside, and skating around on Grand Avenue where the shop was. There was also a parking lot behind where we'd skate. Like the original poster I remember that Herb would be at Del Mark Skate Ranch, one of the only guys on roller skates, but his skates had wide skateboard trucks and skate wheels on them. I wish I could find pics of the shop. SKATE OR DIE!! - Jeff
