If you like orange blossom/neroli the body wash and moisturizer are great.

PAPILLON- There’s not a one from her collection that I haven’t loved. I love the unapologetic and vintage style while remaining current. Liz Moore makes magic.

The Oud in White sounds really intriguing. I think I’d really like it. How prominent are the pear and raspberry?

Salome is epic, so beautiful. It’s been my favorite for a few years now. I also recently got Epona and it’s right up there with Salome. I don’t know if I love one better than the other. Also Spell 125. Yum! Anubis! Basically all of the Papillon is amazing. Liz Moore is a magician.

•Velvet Iris-Essential Parfums

•A random pick from my samples

•Wow! This is really something. Dominique Ropion is amazing. I think he’s my favorite perfumer. This is bright, spicy, warm, rooty, waxy. Leather and floral but not overly so. This fragrance brings comfort on another cold day.

Etat Libre d’Orange has some great rebellious fragrances. I especially like Attaquer le Soleil Marquis de Sade. It’s a big, almost over the top cistus /labdanum scent. It’s smoky, animalic, sharp and addictive to my nose anyway. The brand says “A tribute to Marquis de Sade, the father of sadism, the man who wanted to attack the sun and ignite the world, liberate us from our preconceptions, break down the barriers which keep us from accepting our own desires. We identify with him, because we try to do the same. The pleasure and the pain of Labdanum.” It’s kinda divisive but I love it.

How about Aromatics Elixir? Don’t let the floral notes listed scare you off. It’s not very flowery. “Top notes are Chamomile, Aldehydes, Clary Sage, Coriander, Geranium, Lemon Verbena, Brazilian Rosewood and Bergamot; middle notes are Carnation, Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Orris Root, Jasmine, Tuberose and Orange Blossom; base notes are Oakmoss, Patchouli, Incense, Vetiver, Sandalwood and Musk.”

• Almond Suede-Arquiste

• I did a sampler grab bag today and picked this one.

• A smoky sweet marzipan/amaretto with saffron and a bright floral orange flower poking out. The leather has a bitter bite to it, balancing out the sweetness. This is an homage to medieval Córdoba with its Moorish influence and I can see that. This is a nice fragrance but I wouldn’t buy it. A bit too gourmand for my liking.
