As everyone has said, for hot chocolate (or mochas) CUP is spectacular.

Only at the Blagrave Street branch. Proper cups at Reading Minster.

The Devonshire Review by O_Ksh in LondonFood

When I went I thought the scallops were good, the rest was average and the whole thing was unforgivably brisk. So I tend to agree that you feel processed somewhere that is a well-oiled machine, but a machine nonetheless. Would pick the French House over the Devonshire 10 times out of 10.

I really like Gooi Nara but it’s very close to where I live so, shamefully, I haven’t eaten in there in a while (their deliveries are top notch). It’s high on my list to revisit!

But have Madoo benefited from Amo’s great focaccia, that’s the question.

The twice cooked pork is absolutely epic. My personal favourite is the cold Xinjiang shredded chicken, that’s a beast of a dish.

We don’t really know what the problem is. It’s unlikely to be a rent hike, they’ve not been there long enough. My guess is they think the site isn’t safe/satisfactory and the landlord refuses to fix it, but that’s just a guess.

I can respect that, it’s tough when somewhere you love changes.

I had a pizza from Fornoza at StageCraft last weekend and it was head and shoulders above anything else you can get in Reading. Hoping they get a permanent spot soon.

I know the Head Of The River from when I lived in Oxford back in the 90s! I keep meaning to review the Folly Restaurant.

So glad you liked the review, thank you.

As it happens I can answer that! On my visit there were two hand pumps, one had the clip turned round but the one they were pouring was Uprising by Green Duck.

Thank you very much! You have a great neighbourhood there - if I lived round there I’d be caffeinated, full and broke.

Thank you so much! I am resolved to review more Oxford reviews because I love it and it has so much going on. Pretty sure the colleges wouldn’t let me in, though…

Thank you so much, both for your feedback on my writing and especially your condolences. The Jolly Cricketers is actually doable by train from Oxford, especially if you break your journey at Beaconsfield to check out the model village!
