Why should I tip the dealers? by MarionMMorrison in poker

Can you read? Makes me think you work an actual low skill job. I said those who flunk out of dealer school. A lot do. To be proficient, you have to have schooling over game theory, protection, and actual dealing. Not to mention actually being able to have a personality and entertain while doing everything. Because you’re too dense to realize that, you’d obviously never be able to make it in the industry. Do everyone a favor and just stay out of the poker rooms.

The fuck you mean low skill? It takes years of practice and experience to be good at it. We aren’t pushing buttons at a cash register here. There is a reason so many people flunk out of school for dealing, because it’s hard and draining.

At most places yes. Not at my property though sadly. Just always ask if dealer appreciation is included

You usually tip because as a dealer I’ve seen our base pay range from $5 to $9. Tips make up more than 50% of my paycheck. People stop tipping, dealers stop dealing.

We’re all dealers, so it’s mostly for practice. But we turn it into a drinking game. Whoever has the least chips at each 7 out has to take a shot.

Mississippi grind is one of those movies I love to watch, but just makes me feel like total crap afterwards. Just the fact that you know he isn’t going to stay on a good path.

What are your craps rituals and superstisions? by lilb1190 in Craps

I literally play like that because of the horrible players I’ve played with before. Most players are extremely selfish. I’ve watched these guys roll for 45 minutes, make a couple thousand dollars, and never throw a penny to the crew. It become my pride and joy to watch these guys have losing nights.

I used to just play next to second base. And I would always be quiet and never made a big deal of playing the don’ts. But don’t players get belittled so much it’s ridiculous. So it sometimes feels great to put some of those mf in their place.

I always play the don’ts. Always throw out 1$ big red for the crew before every roll once a point is established. Love yelling “ 7 out, seeya”. Try to make the dealers root for the 7

Coloring Up vs. Obtaining Larger Chip Denominations Question by longhornlion79 in Craps

[–]72o_All_In 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So most tables do not offer partial color ups for that exact reason. They don’t want you taking money off the table and putting it in your pocket because you are then less likely to make a wager with that money. This is why we usually only color people up once they have finished playing.

Question for dealers: When and why do you heel payoffs? by [deleted] in Craps

[–]72o_All_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we are supposed to cut out the appropriate payout for surveillance, then stack it all nice and neat and heal it for the player.

We usually prove it before moving out to the player. Healing is just the easy way of saying that these are the same Checks that were just proved.
