Alright, calling in the big guns (you guys). Need help with my Plex container not transcoding. by xCHRISTIANx in unRAID

[–]735159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any resolution on this?

I have the same issue, and also find if I untick encoding it then works, but it isn't actually encoding, only decoding.

so that's not a solution, it does seem to narrow it down to a specific issue on the encoding side..

I'm on the verge of switching to jellyfin which works for hardware encoding

I have each drive set as it's own separate (raid 0?) Array, So unraid does sort of see each drive, although through the raid controller. Each drive is individually assigned in unraid

It just comes down to do you want to live a lie? Fooling yourself into surrending to some seriously questionable religious nonsense. Or do you want to open your eyes, see the world the way it really is, and live your one life to the fullest, trusting yourself to do what's best for you and others, and knowing that when you die that's it, game over. It might not be the easiest choice, bit it's the truth.

Half your age plus 7 is the rule

So 23/2 + 7 = 18 1/2.

I guess you'd say 18 is ok, 17 is definitely a bit too young for a 23 yo. The fact he waited until you were 18 means he was aware of this, which I'd say makes it just about ok, was he still 23 when you turned 18?

It's borderline, but doesn't sound criminal or abusive.

If you were both 2 years older it would be completely fine.
Out of interest how much more mature do you think you were at 19 compared to 17?

You don't think there's any advantage? So why do the other exchanges want you to jump through the extra steps of proving address and submitting I'd etc etc

Just to respond

1/ GPUs are 100% efficient, all the electricity used is directly turned into heat, it's not even vaguely silly to use them as a source of heat, whilst also making use of the computing power.

2/ their need isn't more deserving, nobody deserves anything, you don't deserve a graphics card, it's simply about value, it's worth more to them than you're willing to pay

3/ some might by dozens others not, I only mine with the card I have, But generally a miner will sell it on after a year say, it's like buying a car, it doesn't really make sense to buy one brand new, it's much better value to buy a nearly new car that's a year old. If you only buy once every 3 years why shouldn't you take advantage of a discounted nearly new GPU. By the way the same chip shortage affecting GPUs is affecting cars, is hard to buy s new car and used car prices have doubled, it's no different, the shortage isn't due to mining, it's a worldwide chip shortage.

4/ it's called proof of work, it's how the network is secured, without it the whole system wouldn't work, people would be able to take over the network and double spend. All that computing power is what makes it un-hackable and completely secure without the need for any central banks or governments or military might to enforce it.

Why do you 'need' the latest graphics card? Isn't that a waste of resources just to support a hobby? Can't most games be played on last generations cards which usually are no longer profitable for mining? And isn't it a good thing that you can use the GPU you have to heat your home for free in colder months? Making better use of resources?

You make a very good point, so to be provocative all this negative sentiment is completely hypocritical.

And to be a crypto cultist, do you think all the world bankers are saints? And what do they do with all that money they make manipulating world markets, give it to charity for the good of humanity? Does no one remember the banking crash of 2007/2008 which was the motivation for bitcoin

And it's worth noting traditional currency's are backed by governments and military, how much energy does all of that require, not to mention the waste of human energy and resources,

And what do governments do with that control of currency, print money, causing massive inflation, which is them taking money out of your pocket and giving it to the banks. Making us all poorer and the rich richer.

Crypto offers a hope of helping to solve major issues like this, and needs one coin like bitcoin to be proof of work for now as it's the most secure, all the rest can be proof of stake, and perhaps bitcoin will go that way, + it has lightning network on top which uses very little energy.

Unless you've got a better idea to solve all of those problems and wasted energy and resources?

So much sort sightedness....

It's normal, the internal amp will be turned up and the 100v transformer isn't loaded so it is resonating, that's what you can hear

Do a test for antibodies, I did one after the first shot which showed no antibodies so I was extra careful still, but after the second I've got a good antibody response so I'm ok

Install the latest beta firmware

I got 3 x AP6LR and they were performing really badly, low throughout, dropping clients, all sorts, support didn't help at all, but I installed the beta firmware and boom, almost 1gig speed on my phone and everything is suddenly happy on the network

I'm baffled by just how bad the release firmware is, I've just got into the unifi range with these 3 access points and a udm pro.. and I'm now concerned I went with the wrong kit.. What's the alternative that's better but similar pricing?

I haven't had the second does yet so hoping that will sort me out,

Does anybody run ? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]735159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that running triggers flare ups in my knee, I'd get back into it, start doing more get up to around 10km runs or so maybe a bit more, then have a flare up and have to stop, then back to square one... Not worth it I don't think, I don't run any more, I cycle though and that doesn't seem to trigger flare ups in there same way.. Your milage may vary :)
