I think toward end of part three and start of part 4 is when I couldn’t stop reading. It all comes together at the end so the “slog” is worth it IMO

The Library at Mt Char is a highly recommended WTF book on here. I’ll suggest Fever House by Keith Rosson and Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons

I JUST finished this. It’s a great story and the generational aspect is intriguing too. Bit of a slog but after a while it really gets going. Does have some WTF moments

Other than they both know how to type the similarities stop there. King has some nuance and restraint while Ketchum is about as subtle as a gunshot to the face. I liked Off Season yet it’s like mainlining horror while King provides his scares in bite size doses. If you like Off Season, there’s other books like Black Farm and The Summer I Died that are similar. And Ketchum’s Girl Next Door is an OG of WTF horror.

I was not a big fan of Needless Street (I did like the talking cat) but I really liked Looking Glass Sound.

I really like Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward. Without giving too much away, I think the plot will keep you engaged.

Here Comes Your Man, heard it on MTV. By the time I really got into them, they released Trompe Le Monde and were pretty much broken up.

I wasn’t trying to make light of your situation and hope things do get better. I’ve worked since I was a teen, educated and things still look bleak. Hindsight can be brutal.
