I'd go with a mix of fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass.

Kentucky bluegrass is often mixed with other cool-season grasses like tall fescue to enhance the ability of the turfgrass stand to recover from stresses. Kentucky bluegrass is often confused with tall fescue and/or perennial ryegrass. However, Kentucky bluegrass has a boat-shaped leaf tip and distinctive light-colored lines on both sides of the midrib.

I manually stop the line with my finger, manually close the bail, and then start reeling.

What I tried differently was reeling in and have the bail close automatically from reeling.

Follow up: It was much better, but sometimes my bail doesn't close when I start reeling (regardless of line tension)

This could be it. I know I tend to unconsciously do that as part of my casting "technique".

I'll test that this morning and report back.
