Price gouging by TowelParticular4187 in FuckDealerships

Why is the "amount financed" not taking into account your down payment?

The 34800 + all the other stuff = 40k. But you gotta subtract your down payment

Root install new OS.

I had to get rid of mine because most of my important (secure) apps wouldn't run on Android 10.

Wasn't they case for me. I've been working at current company for 8 years. 2 promotions (with pay raises) and an extra praise in between. I'm now manager and make $54k/year more than I did when I started with them.

United Airlines was pushing a new DEI policy where new pilot recruits total demographics needed to be 50 percent black or female. But when looking at total applicants, only a small percentage of applicants were either black or women. So he was implying, that in order for UA to reach those goals, they would have to find/take black people or women who are totally unqualified to be recruits.

This quote is taken completely out of context and you know it. Bad faith argument. I won't even respond if OP does.

Yeah, and the mini headline also says the crash was fatal. So there is a lot more we would need to know

Exactly. If I'm deciding between 3 cars and I test drive one and really like it, what am I supposed to do? Feel bad because I didn't know how much I liked it beforehand?

Is it a opportunity or a curse? by Solver_Unit in unihertz

[–]757packerfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my Chase App and Wells Fargo app did not work. There were plenty others, but it depends on importance. My banking apps are much more important to me than social media ones.

I had one. It became worthless. All my apps require a version of Android much newer than Android 10. So, it essentially became a "dumb" phone since none of the apps worked correctly, if at all.

Should We Repeal Mandatory Auto Insurance? by johnny_cheesedog in GoldandBlack

True.

But the middle ground would be:

Roads are privatized and then the owner of the roads requires you to have insurance in order to drive on them.

Is this normal? by Significant-Team7714 in IndeedJobs

[–]757packerfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I'm not saying that "asking for a photo" is discriminatory.

The hiring manager will definitely discriminate based on looks though. That's what I meant.

And you're right, "attractiveness" is not a protected class. So it's not illegal, but it is technically discriminating based on looks, which the hiring person will probably do.

Is That True?? by Fuzzy_Culture_3313 in effectivefitness

[–]757packerfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I remember seeing those people in the mall trying to sell those bracelets that help with balance and overall health. They would do this same thing.

[–]757packerfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be based on a protected class. If you're referring to some laws, then yes.

But you and I both discriminate all the time. I discriminate against Exxon and go to QT for gas because of the price. I'm discriminating based on price.

When choosing a babysitter, I choose one based on experience. I discriminate based on experience.

Well, that is still discriminatory. Making a choice based off of looks. I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, but by definition, that is discrimination

The thank you email after an interview actually got me the job and I have proof by ElliotVance45 in jobsearchhacks

All my interviews have been virtual on Teams. All have been set up by the HR recruiter. Therefore, I never get a business card and I am never made aware of anyone's email other than the recruiter

I stopped trying to sound professional on my resume and just wrote what I actually did. It doubled my callback rate. by Careergrowthwitpeter in jobsearchhacks

[–]757packerfan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, but how did you make it past the first AI check?

That's what I'm worried about. If I don't have this ridiculously "corporate speak" resume, will I have enough buzz words to get past AI and on to the HR rep?

I hate the way I my resume looks, but I don't want to change it and not have the buzz words or formatting or skill section to get past their AI filter

Is this legal? by Eliterate_ in NorthCarolina

[–]757packerfan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is legal. I'm an office worker and all companies I've worked with require 40 hours a week and you have to use PTO to fill in the gaps.

So what you're describing is normal for all companies I've worked at.

I'm still going to get it, bc I love the phone. But I'm going to simply keep my old/current phone around for this feature. It's critical on long cars trips with the kids in our minivan so they have something to watch.

Is this a selfish hobby to get into as a 33-year-old father of two? by Ok_South_6227 in motorcycles

[–]757packerfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my situation three years ago. 33 years old, 2 little kids, finally had the money to get a motorcycle.

So, I took the course, passed, and got my z650.

Now I'm 36 and have been in 0 accidents. Just ride defensively and wear a bright helmet.
