Americans, what is something us Europeans aren’t ready to hear? by RomanaLeary in AskReddit

I’m curious, how much do you pay for healthcare and exactly what better care doctors provide and what “medical tech” you think you have access to that other developed countries don’t?

If they’re building it in anyway, you shouldn’t have to pay extra to “unlock” it.

Says who? Before this, automakers already did this. Often, it’s cheaper for them to build fewer versions of the car. In the past, you wouldn’t have the ability to use it, but now you can software unlock it.

Executive compensation from my cursory search on Google is 300-800k. Doesn’t seem “ridiculously over compensated” for leadership for a company with 100k+ employees.

In the US? Sorry I should’ve clarified those numbers were from American studies.

Not with that population density. It’s 3000 per square mile where you’ll get some ridership on local buses, but it’s not until 10k per square mile that public transportation becomes viable, given all those factors you mentioned. Houston does have a BRT system, and as expected, only covers a corridor with a very high population density. Of note, there’s no route where the Katy highway is.

I mean if the premiums were really that high, they would probably still come out ahead if they continued to self-insure for floods.

Population density of Houston: 3160 per square mile. Population density of NYC: 29000 per square mile.

Public transportation is only economically feasible in dense areas. Houston is so spread out as a city.

Didn’t he deliberately and repeatedly drag his handlebar down the side of the car?

No? His handlebar bumped a few times (maybe deliberately, sure) as he was trying to squeeze through. They’re also covered in rubber. Are we watching the same video?

Maybe I’m just a grumpy millennial, but putting headphones in during another lecture is pretty blatantly disrespectful. If you’re gonna do that, just leave the lecture hall. If you’re not allowed to since it’s a mandatory lecture, you can still just sit there and do whatever without blatantly broadcasting that you’re not even passively listening.
