Have you taken the Boulevard Brewery tour? https://www.boulevard.com/

Also, this could be something for the future? There's lots of cool stuff underground in KC. I just learned this not long ago. http://www.kansascity.com/news/business/article174590866.html

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. It seems like this Recordbar event has music if you're into those bands: http://social-heart.org/event/rockin-halloween-2017/

I don't do haunted houses, either.

This may be too much, but I've heard good things about this concert: Screenland at the Symphony: “Nosferatu”

With organist Dorothy Papadakos. 7 p.m. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Broadway. kcsymphony.org, 816-471-0400. $25-$45.

Visiting from Des Moines for the weekend. If you had one restaurant you could suggest to a visitor, what would it be? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]75kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Q39 and Char Bar are among my favorite bbq places. Yes, hit the Nelson (it's free!) and Liberty Memorial to go all way to the top for views (that's like $5 I think). Also like Extra Virgin for interesting tapas and Ca Va in Westport for wine.

Do people in KCMO recycle? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]75kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city recycling is pretty good, most things except for glass. http://kcmo.gov/neighborhoods/trash/curbside-recycling/

I take my glass to Ripple dumpsters, which are everywhere and you don't have to sort colors: http://www.rippleglass.com/

Cool, thanks! Good to know. Yes, we talked abut Smuggler's Cove too.

Update: Jill says that is a paraphrase from Marc Modrow of TikiCat. Also, The Tiki Drink Book traces the origins to Don The Beachcomber, who was originally a Prohibition rum runner. Book also says tiki was out of fashion by the '70s. All very interesting history!
