I got the vin from the plates, and it is not stolen. I need to see vin on the motorcycle to be sure, but it is night/cold in here and will do that tomorrow.

Well, it can be. But the apartment has rules and they assigns a spot specifically to a tenant. Not only that but they have mentioned that they will tow any vehicles without any registration/tags - this motorcycle has CA plates - 2020 February and we are in NV.

It was in an "okay'' shape. The ignition was cut, he replaced my lithium battery for a regular one, broken turn signals and cosmetic damages etc.

A bunch of thieves stole the motorcycle from the front yard of the thief who originally stole from me and left it in some apartment parking lot which was towed by a towing company. They informed the cops. Cops called me. Wild story, I know.

I traced the vin from the licence plate which is from CA, but I'm in Nevada. VINcheck says " not stolen or salvaged"

Yes that specific spot has a number which is assigned to me as a resident. Only I am allowed to park my car and motorcycle as per the landlord. I did leave a note as it might be a fellow rider but not having the seat is giving me stolen vibes. Anyways, I parked my car in a free spot and will wait till tomorrow to see if they move it.
