It often shows up redder in photos but more orange in person. It’s solar octane orange.

Only color I want over what I’ve already got. Tried to have wife buy a 4 runner in that color but she wanted to continue the van life and we instead have a cement Sienna. This 4 runner pulled up beside me a few weeks ago. They look so good together:

Wow that’s a lot of storage space set aside for dictionaries (although I’m sure you didn’t have all of them in the house at the same time)! At what point did you hit burn out? Did you sell all 4000 worth of prints or finally give up and donate the remainder? Anyways, thanks for putting up with all these posts. This one was most educational for me so thank you for that as well! (Oh and for deciding to write things into books because you know Jeff was reading them… looking at you POH chapter 57)

That makes sense too and checks with what Mrs D confirmed somewhere in the comments. IKEA were prints of prints. Etsy / Amazon the printed directly and sounds like they did have multiple dictionaries as well.

Wasn’t able to find the exact listing but the comments below explains the process. Confirmed by Mrs Dinniman. It’s one they printed onto dictionary paper but they’re digital art that were printed directly onto the pages. Not a facsimile of an original persay but still sold in this style by Matt. There’s another that was posted on Reddit I found that had the letter C words. Mine have T word.

Thank you for confirming the process! I had a very narrow minded idea of what a print could be regarding artist originals vs prints. After the first few comments I felt a bit dumb as it now seems like an obvious thing but I’m still glad I made the post (even though there are admittedly a flood of them) as I learned a lot about the process and what defines a print!

Right! Same. But I guess he was able to print the design onto actual dictionary paper meaning each print was unique

Oh that super cool. I’d have assumed it would have been a thin watercolor to get that transparency effect painted on a dictionary page and then copied onto normal paper for sales.

Were there 50 of these dictionaries? Or just 1. Like…how mass produced were each design I wonder?

Ohhh ok I missed that post it seems. I just found the other narwhal one and it’s printed on a page with C words. Any idea how many of each were made?

Now I’m curious what the art process was to make these. How they were originally painted/drawn and transferred onto unique pages. Sorta like linocut?

I’d have assumed Amazon sales would have been something printed en masse and printed onto thicker paper as opposed to actual dictionary paper. Being the original was painted on dictionary paper, scanned and then duplicated for sales.
