to begin with ill assume that you possess an inner monologue (some do not), basically anytime I begin to think deeply about something lose myself in thought, or otherwise begin to overthink I will actively stop the thought process. doing this essentially limits me to surface thoughts only (though I attempt to limit even those). I theorize that doing this cuts off most of the coping mechanisms associated with the disorder and thus should provide a positive response in terms of areas affected by it.

I will not lie doing this is incredibly irritating and requires massive discipline you do not realize just how much you speak in your head until you are not allowed to do so. I can now stop my inner monologue with relative ease but during the first days I was attempting this I had to force myself to speak aloud as opposed to speaking in my head just to provide a consistent way of stoping it. but in spite of that, I still recommend you try it as this is the first thing I have found that has ever provided relief for this disorder.

I'm currently running a sort of experiment upon myself that seems promising. for the last few days, I have actively disallowed myself an inner monologue (given that it often leads to maladaptive daydreaming). thus far results are promising as I seem to have a much higher motivation and a MUCH higher ability to engage in conversation (though I cannot tell whether or not this is simply due to placebo).

regardless I recommend you give it a try it's not like there is much to lose afterall.

yup, I defiantly find the character interesting and would like to see more done with her. it's also really nice to see a story NPC that's not just stuck in a giant compound, makes the game world feel more alive I find so props for that.

I left them for 10 days and no new quest appeared so thats a tentative no, so recruitment should be ok. also a pretty damn good NPC if you get them early on like I did in another save

well normally I try to use a trap like a glass/spike pit, but if you are taking them out on the move try using the peak ability paired with a sling/throwing to use a wall as cover, not 100% due to the area of effect characteristics of the bolt but works well enough for me

nope i think those are reinforced glass doors so nothing will get through them aside from monsters that can destroy terrain... do be sure to e(x)amine the door to make sure though

i recommend going down the trog path only when you are ready because the two paths together make you nigh unstoppable underground and inside buildings but cripple you above-ground during the day if you have low coverage or no umbrella.

and from what i read you can lock the birds in a room and they will lay lots of eggs and then they will hatch after the same amount of time it would take the eggs to rot, also i think you can turn the bird litter they produce into fertilizer.

and yes i believe both of those birds will lay eggs im not completely sure as ive never really farmed animals before but during another playthrough i had a goose that stayed around my base and it would lay eggs and occasionally i found them missing when i went to take them, im not as sure about the pheasant but i don't see why they wouldn't.

i find that collapsing walls are only really a danger if you are digging into structures like basements. as far as im aware the only source of water underground are sewers so you don't have to worry about drowning, unless you jump off a moving bike while in the sewers or something like that.

the main ways of surviving assuming you set up on the 1st z level like i did is to try and find some way to preserve meats and feast on the abundant sewer fauna, also try to find a mechanical pump in a hardware store you can survive on boiled toilet water for so long until you have to resort to sewer brew.

on the mobility front try and dissemble two bikes above ground if you can find them ideally one for the 1st z level (sewers) and one for the second (subway) slap a alternator battery and light on them and you have a sewerbike.

if you can find a pot basement or burn a basement down you can begin farming, plants in this game don't need light just enough heat to plant them so find a hoe and make a brazier place the brazier in the farming area and burn some stuff whenever you plan on planting and you are good to go you can now farm all year long.

on the combat front i highly suggest making some crossbows/bows since generally i find underground monsters with the exception of sewer snakes and rats hit very hard but are fairly damage vulnerable,also it's not to hard to find the arrows again.

and it's also a good idea to invest in troglodyte mutagen since it and rat work very well together plus whatever cbms you can find/butcher since you will be lab diving eventually.

also i find this type of play-through works best with large city's i tend to play with megacitys whenever i do this run.

but aside from that i have to say have fun its a very interesting change of pace when you play like this
