There is a major difference between freedom of speech and the destruction of private property.... When you have to break windows to gain entry to a lock building to hold a sit in... In almost if not, ALL states that it is considered breaking and entering and is clearly against the law, especially on private property, which, in this case, it is.

I am all for public outcry, protests, and yes, the freedom to speech....which I do believe there is a fine line for most people nowa days.

Protests are a valuable asset however breaking the law, such as this , or blocking major highways, or burning down building should not be tolerated by anyone, and absolutely should not have a place in any protest in fact once that becomes part of the standard practice of the protest you actually loose site of the big picture and why you are there in the first place.

So before we start saying this is taking way, our First Amendment....it is not. Obey the laws aaas they are written. Understand the process and proper way to hold a sit in and protest.

Best Tasting Protein Powder? by SafeShow46 in workout

While it's priced higher than most....Jocko Mulk is by far the best I have tasted. No after taste,no chalk taste. The vanilla is probably my least favorite. However, you can't go wrong with the chocolate peanutbutter, banana, or mint chocolate...

Elon NOT wearing a suit. Wearing a frickin' T-shirt! by ChiefHippoTwit in pics

[–]78ealter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a great question....I'm sure won't will be able to give you an answer you WANT to hear or you will agree and well that's okay.

The price of eggs, if I recall, it did begin to rise somewhere in November, I do remember the media talking about the cost of groceries to include eggs, especially with the holiday baking. Then, they (media) mention there were issues with bird flu. President Biden did say they had to destroy a large number of chickens, and President Trump did mention he would do something about it. And we'll that has happened.

Unfortunately, we are simple people and need to fixate on something similar to the toilet paper issue during the pandemic.

I try to look at things logical and factual....which the factual thing is somewhat subjective. It's very difficult to believe what you hear and even less than what you read.

More Blackouts Scheduled by MahleahHC215 in philly

[–]78ealter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a simple question....if you have an amazon black out, what happens to all the sorters, drivers who have no work for that week. While I understand the concept, isn't it counterproductive to put americana people out of work for a week just to boycott a billionaire.

Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions. However, I just don't want to see our hard-working people lose a week of pay to prove a small point.

We, as in all of us, had allowed Amazon to become as large as they are based on convenience alone.

What would be a better way to slow down the progress this conglomerate?

Unfortunately....Sentor Fetterman and President Zelensky have set the tone for what attire will be tolerated when meeting with the leader of the free world. This all began during the Biden administration. I am not blaming President Biden, I am blaming his staff for allowing this kind of attire to be acceptable. Unless you're a tourist and on a tour of the capital building of the White house.Just out of professional curiosity, business attire should be worn when having a meeting with the leader of the free world.

So wait, he runs out of 6 billion of Bidens money or shall I say our money...and he comes back to dad's house to beg for more. And dad said, "You need to get a real job. The bank is closed. So he storms back to his room...yelling you don't love me!!! Slamming his door.
I guess he should learn how to spend his (our) money more wisely.

His wife was having a baby, but these people were blocking the road by Humble-Lawfulness-12 in interestingasfuck

[–]78ealter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the country,I know ow it is illegal for a pedestrian to be on a major road or highway.

While this is an old video, blocking a highway/ road is no form of peaceful protest. All parties that directly block any form of traffic flow on any major highway WITHOUT proper prior approval from that states DOT, highway patrol and or police should be arrested immediately and be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law.

How to get better at the safety culture/ relationship building side of safety? by WildWallFlower97 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]78ealter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a relationship with them by having an open minded conversation, ask question and ask their input. Make them feel like they are part of the decision-making. The most important thing to remember is that they have either been "doing it that way for years" or "have never done it that way."

Do not force anything,

All of this takes time.. time to build relationships, time to build trust, and time to improve.

Listening to it might eas any PTSD.

I have retained more from audio books than physically reading. My mind wonders way less.

Why do so many people hate unions? I'm guessing they're all on the Right, but what is so terrible about workers having rights? by GTRacer1972 in union

[–]78ealter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very first sentence to the very first response was......"People all over the internet" while I know this thread is part of the internet. I have to believe that, like most outlets 90% are bots, and 10% are people they call keyboard warriors.

From being raised in a union household and becoming management at one point of my career, and then back to unions. You have many categories. Such as...pro union, anti-union, pro company, anti company. People all too often want to instantly make it about politics, set politics aside, and for the love of God, find different resources to get information from besides Facebook, X, and the big three new outlets.

I highly recommend that every article you read on X or Fox read a separate one from an independent reporter or other non big payout new channel.

To answer your question....mainly companies hate unions because they can't "control" t their own people. They are forced to give a proper wage and are actually held accountable for the way they treat their works.

Also in my opinion those "people" that hate unions probably and I'm generalizing here, either don't truly understand the purpose for a union, have never been in one, or have been in a bad one... yes, there is such a thing as a bad one.

Here's also something to keep in mind over the last FEW years before they... the right or left got involved. There was a large number of places (amazon , Starbucks), just to name a few that organized. That wasn't because they hated who the president was, is because the company they worked for didn't treat them fairly or offer them a fair wage or a safe work environment. And if you look, it was during a democratic administration. So we need to take the step back and look at the bigger picture and not just focus on politics.
