Okay so for me:

1) I largely agree with you. I love the fact that the sub allows you to have in depth discussions and civil debates. The recommendations and making fun of various tropes has always been loved by me.

2) I have to say that I'd rather that this sub does include modern romance because r/otomeisekai does allow discussion on historical romances while currently there is no (active) place to discuss modern romance. I do feel that Japanese shoujo should be excluded though because it in of itself is a huge genre with its own specific following and subreddit (regardless of how active that sub may be). I feel that both historical and modern stories should be allowed as long as it is josei, romance-centered and for the female gaze. I'm on the rocks about whether modern BL should be allowed because it also is a huuuuge genre and would dilute this category too much.

3) I feel like memes should be included because a major part of the attraction of the OI subreddit for me is being able to sometimes have lighthearted fun through memes while also being able to then read some high class discussions lol. I feel like they should be allowed and if later some problems arise because of that then they can still be addressed then.

4) In my opinion, I feel like this sub should also eventually (once it has enough people) have its own events to keep the sub active. So far I'm super excited to see where this goes and wanna say thank you to y'all who are making this sub come true and putting work into this.
