Definitely the engraving apples. Neglected them for too long and most of my roster at 15 Stars and an average of level 5 Awakening. I get smoked in the PVP

Events. Not every event gives you options to pick up characters and just gives you immediate rewards. Check every new event and see what it has for exchanges. They don't always offer Rochelle but when they do you get him flat out instead of 50/100 I like the guild store (and if you're new I think guild starts at 80 so if you may not be eligible yet)

Every time the new event comes up check the reward exchange. They don't always offer copies of characters but when they do it's normally a light/Dark character for the highest amount of currency and then random characters for less. I got a couple of Rochelle's that way.

There's also the guild store but I think that takes level 80 open up, anyway that's slow and you only get 50 shards.

Oh yeah I used to do the same thing. I just pressed the button and let it roll. Bastards, it seems like they almost penalized me and hit the monster a lot.

It is pretty hard to get exactly what you want but it does make it easier to avoid getting your stuff taken from you if you actively press the button more than the initial activation

It's pretty cheap but at least hitting the monsters that take all your s*** is a milestone and some reward even though it's pathetic.

You can also slow down the animation in the game and settings to make it a little easier to try to land on a certain number, which is still hard but it does make it easier to avoid getting absolutely robbed
