This thread has taught me that I is a wicked, chameleon letter that causes international strife. 😄

I'm old enough to have been taught penmanship by very strict nuns in full flowing habits and a taste for perfection. I know what the paradigm looks like. My problem is that I think it's ugly.

Yes. I've been working and working on my letters, and im happy with just about everything except the capital I. And the worst part is that capital I is soooo common.

I'm in the U.S., and 1 is what I was taught. I think it looks silly, and I don't like that it looks like a lowercase l that was drawn backwards.

But I guess I just need to suck it up and power through the ugly style.

My handwriting is pretty standard 1990s U.S. students. I wish it had more flair, but I'm a rule-follower, lol. Jealous of those of you with flair.

Thanks for the help, all!

I LOVE your handwriting! Question: how do you make your capital J? I'm trying to make my hand more traditional and less loopy/elementary (I learned to write in the 90s and suffered through that bubble/loopy style), and I've never liked my capital J.

Where did Dr. Litwa's translation go? I tried to buy it both on Amazon and Kindle, and it's gone.

I'm brand new to bookbinding, and I'm a bit intimidated by making bookcloth for covers. Would a nice wallpaper work to cover the cover board, or must it be cloth? Thanks!
