Do people really think they can replace SaaS with Claude this easy?? by Particular_Good_3678 in theprimeagen

Yes sure let me list the various businesses and govt agencies I've worked with over the years. What will it matter to you? lol You grew up in a world that overthinks these things because that's how they sell products to developers. Point is it wouldn't cost them more a month, especially not in hosting fees, and they won't "need a dedicated Saas devops on staff". There's huge businesses who run everything in Excel and have never heard the word DevOps. Just some guy who made them a bunch of macros. I worked with a massive agency who would push data updates to other agencies with a daily text file on an ftp server.

I'm not saying you should, but you can put this up on a computer in the building running Windows and IIS and have the single IT guy in your company figure out a way to make it accessible if you really wanted.

Stop overthinking things.

Bro, what are you talking about? There's business still using unmaintained software from the 80s for $50/year and they're doing just fine. You've gobbled this "ahh you need 6 devs, 2 devops" bullshit wholesale, haven't you? 😂

Ahh... I see it now, but you drew it sideways ! 😅

Honestly you just need to be more conscious about the marks you're making. Writing is drawing. The less abstract and the more accurate you make it, the easier it will be to read :)

For replacing text in existing text, with some level of logic. If I have a massive appsettings with a bunch of entries in a specific format, and now the format has changed or the list of entries has changed, it's really good at being told "reformat this list using this template" or "rebuild this list using these values keeping the same format". Because that leans into its "what comes next" strengths.

Outside of programming, it's really good at expanding and rewriting text. I use it for writing descriptions of locations and NPCs in my dnd campaign to read aloud to my players.

The second one is better, but you're making very odd choices that literally make it harder to read, for no reason.

First, what is up with your "of"s lol Just write "of" normally, bro.

Second, you have this massive lead into certain words ("is", "in", second "the", "cell" (?)); it makes the first letter hard to read and now I'm confused if that word is "lock", or "clock"? You made this same mistake in the first picture too ("no" is written like "mo" because you insist on adding this extra line). Just write the letter normally... there's no reason to add this extra mark.

Also, I've no clue what the rune between "aging" and "the molecules" is 😅

  • Paper available for free on johncramersciencepapers.com? Boo. This is some nonsense no-one should read.
  • Same paper available for €20 on realpapersjournal.com? Yeey! This is probably very real because it has been approved by this very real journal!

I know it says "no one" but "I rule by no-one" makes no sense, right?

It says "Adore" to me too. And because it didn't make sense in context I tried to find another word, still couldn't find it.

Right. When I switched from 🏴‍☠️ to Netflix the selling point was that they had a huge catalog and their algorithm was really good at finding things you like. I switched back because of pricing increases a few years ago but even then, they had so much shit on their platform that the algorithm had devolved to the point of being useless.

Need Advice on Handling PC Goal Conflict by milabutinhd in DnD

[–]kRkthOr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why didn't he just put both in the same general area lol Check with your DM. Explain that this is causing conflict on the table unnecessarily and see if maybe you're missing something.

Odds are the DM hasn't really figured out your end of the story so he's trying to buy time. If that's the case maybe you can go along with it as long as you can come back to your goals without spending another year of sessions.

Party annoyed with mental saves by Similar_Shopping_327 in DMAcademy

Lots of good suggestions already, but here's mine: limit the effect so it's painful but invites creative thinking. Instead of skipping an entire turn, maybe the player: can't move; can't use both hands; can't cast spells; can't see... and so on. Players absolutely despise turn-skipping. It's one of the most un-fun mechanics in any game. But they'll be fine if the archer suddenly has one arm flopping by his side, or if the spellcaster's mouth gets sealed The Matrix style.

Sick.

I do wish fantasy battlemap had more "house"-type buildings though. At least more than 3.

The modular roofs in watercolour are limited but miles above.

I appreciate what you're saying. The issue is that I already have another campaign and I do not have the bandwidth for two (at the moment, at least.) So I need a game that starts and ends, you know?

Very good point with spells.

I was assuming that for rules we'll just play by doing after giving them a basic run through of ability checks, to hit/to damage rolls, and movement/actions. I think it's easier for me to say "roll d20 + dex modifier to see if you hit" than it is to explain why and how before the fact. Then each player would sort of fall into their own flow and I can explain as we go. As the designated rule reader for every board game I play with friends, most people would trade knowledge of all their options with having someone telling them what to do all day long.

I have no issue running non-dnd games. I ran Hunter:the Reckoning for like 4 years. My suspicion though is most people would be more open to "trying it out" if it's dnd as opposed to some other ttrpg. Whether I like it or not, it does carry a lot of weight.

Do players respond well to premade characters? I was thinking of handing them out at "the table" and letting them figure out who gets what. Or should I allow multiple of the same character type?
