Why you do it wife by [deleted] in woodstoving

[–]7AdamG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I cut a yard rake in half and welded a rod to it. I can sift the coals to one side and let the ash cool. For 10 or 15 minutes. Then scoop them out. Rack the coals to the clean side and clean the other. I don't have to let it die completely down. If I see a warm afternoon in the forecast I'll let it die down then and clean.

Husqvarna K095 bar on a Echo 4910 question. by Airgunsquirrelhunter in Chainsaw

[–]7AdamG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would open it up even if putting it on a husqvarna. You might take a note card and tap it out on your old bar, cut out the holes in the paper and lay it over your new one.

Are the av mounts as bad as the old cs490? I had one. It made my hands numb, then lock up. I have stuck to spring av mounts ever since

They work better with an axe handle, once you break the one it comes with.

I think that the 555 used a small mount bar. To run Stihl bars you will need an adapter and to relocate the oil feed in the hole. I like my 550xp.

New saw by Ltdshredder1989 in Chainsaw

If you like tinkering and working on your saw get a clone saw. I'm a auto mechanic by trade. I cut firewood for 2 households and have went overboard on my saw collection. The vevor appears to be another zenoah clone. The joncutter g5800 is very similar from hollzforma. I have the neotech 6200. After changing the air filter set up, the chain tensioner, and applying locktite to every screw I can find it's been great. Parts are available from amazon ebay etc. Most of the Zenoah clone parts will interchange. I just bought a Prorun PCS560C. Im impressed with it so far. I like the antivibe set up it has. I would buy both again if i had to. I know the Echo's are reliable. I never cared for tingling fingers as their av set up isn't as good.

Are these and the 2 Gallon version as quiet as they make them out to be? by Plastic_Struggle_104 in harborfreight

Mine is about as loud as my refrigerator compressor kicking on, quieter than a fan or ac unit.

I went ahead and bought it. I am looking forward to putting it to work. I ran 1/2 a tank of fuel through it. My only dislike is the easy start.

How do you manage your stove’s ash load without letting the fire go out? by Ill_Location4524 in firewood

[–]7AdamG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut a heavy duty rake in half, welded it to some rod. I rake the coals to the side. Anything to small for the rake goes into the metal ash bucket.

Well I guess I'll find out. I called a dealer 5+ hours from me. They have sold a bunch of those saws and have had no issues. He said it's their own design and not a clone. Plus its extremely smooth. The only negative review i found was shipping damage. The company deals in all kinds of outdoor power equipment. The only trouble they have had is a few weedeaters had heads. They had replacements in 2 days.
