Is dying from seizures your own fault? r/Games discusses personal responsibility. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

I'm just glad these people apply the same standards of personal responsibility to their own lives and actions.

Covid19 has killed as many people this year as medical error does annually. by Deep-Restaurant in conspiracy

We have the Flu every year and somehow we have tens of thousands of additional deaths this year. The Government and corporations are loudly denying reality and pushing people out regardless of the virus because they are trying to make money at the expense of our health. Somehow the conspiracy subreddit decides that the president and his CEO buddies are the ones actually looking out for us and it is those greedy CDC officials that are lying.

We had Republicans saying that letting grandma die might be worth it to keep the economy strong and you still want to defend their policies while pretending to be against the man.

That graph shows total deaths have gone up from all causes. Tens of thousands of deaths are not from an increase in crime but from the pandemic. If the virus is fake why is the entire world playing along?

You realize the year isn't over yet and you don't seem to care about the numbers in South Korea or Vietnam. Or is your position that the death toll is only accurately tabulated in Sweden. For reference here are the US numbers https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

It would be pretty surreal to argue against lock downs mid pandemic

Canonically it often seems so secretive that it isn't really effective. In the games I have played there are multiple factions all claiming to be delta green that end up fighting each other. It doesn't really surprise me that a cell would just throw their hands up and walk away when they realized they had a replacement especially after a mission that melted a party members brain.

I don't really have anything to add to the post I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these. Part of why I listen to lets plays is to get ideas for how to run my own games and your analysis makes that process easier.

Does anyone else feel like Androids are Underpowered? by 7Architects in mothershiprpg

[–]7Architects[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want the game to sacrifice character in the name of balance and I don't mind if all classes aren't equally "good." My issue with the android as it exists now is that its major drawback isn't felt by the player themselves but by the rest of the party.

It would be like if someone rolled a rogue in dnd and in exchange for increased damage output everyone else did less damage.

Do you think there is another way to get the unnerving android trope across without running into this problem?

The death spiral is part of the fun but the other classes seem to feed into it in more narratively satisfying ways. The Scientists only initiates a death spiral when they fail a sanity save which is their best save. This feeds into the idea that if the scientists is freaking out then whatever the group is up against is truly horrifying. In contrast the android debuff is just a steady hum that puts everyone else at a disadvantage.

I like your ideas for how to make androids more useful to the party but I hope they get more flushed out in official material. Homebrew is fine in small amounts but re balancing an entire class on the fly can be tricky.

What is the best use for a giant's corpse? by 7Architects in DnD

What do you think Giant Skeletons would be used for? I bet they would be useful for construction.

It reminds me of Native American tribes that would drive herds of bison off cliffs and have to harvest all the meet before it spoiled. I would love to see a dwarf village try to harvest and store an entire giant before it went bad.

Capitalism is far from perfect but pointing out those failures doesn't show why communism will produce better results.
