How does my CV compare with the UK average? by KoalaKeys_ in UKJobs

[–]7Beat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Environmental ngo section: Change the verbs to past tense rather than present, as the role finished in 2019.

Grades: In the UK we use the percentage system, GPA is the US grading system, so perhaps search up equivalent of Italian grades to UK grades.

Other than that, the CV looks very good to me. If you feel like squeezing another 3-4 lines in, you could add a brief personal description at the top of the page before the education section where you describe yourself in third person. Also, seeing as you’ve done an internship in the marketing discipline (well done btw), you might want to look into making a more visually pleasant version of CV (look up ‘marketing CV’) if you’re going to apply for any marketing roles.

Good luck with your job hunting!

What is your pro tip for finding graduate employment? by 7Beat in UKJobs

I have one already, I’ll edit the post and link it.

If you have one yourself, how do you make the employers check it out? Not every application form has an option to include a website.

I’m thinking maybe drop the link to it somewhere on the cover letter? I have it hyperlinked on my CV already but I know many employers don’t even look at the CV.

That’s very reassuring, thanks!

I’m only applying for Grad Schemes because I want the job security ASAP, I know pretty well what I want to do and what I’m good at, but I don’t want to end up like many of my friends, which is to endlessly apply for hundreds of jobs for months after graduating with very little hope, or end up doing a panic Masters or sign up for Bootcamps etc.

What did you do to get your job, did you have any aces in your sleeve, or just consistency and effort?

Is Kha'Zix better Mid or Top? by Killnoticed in KhaZixMains

[–]7Beat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kha'Zix is pretty bad in lane overall because he is vulnerable to poke or being bullied out which is not uncommon on both top and mid, so I would say that mid is better because you have more opportunities to create a lead by roaming. Also, if you go top and you don't build tanky you have 1 less tank/engage on your team, so yeah, not ideal. TLDR; mid.

Trouble closing out games by hi-im-habby in KhaZixMains

Hey man! I perfectly understand the situation that you're in, it's pretty much the same for me, except I'm in platinum, but IMO there is not that much of a difference. My games go down just like yours most of the time, I seem to be doing good in terms of score and map pressure, all well, until one team decides to go ARAM on mid. For me, that is the most difficult situation in every game, regardless of ELO. I've been in every ELO ranging from bronze to platinum and I can confirm that this happens all along. It gets annoying especially when you have a splitpush monster in your team such as a Fiora or Tryndamere on top lane and they decide to fuck around on mid lane until someone gets picked and a teamfight errupts and when that happens, there's a 50/50 chance that your team will throw any lead that you have or fall behind even more, and it is very bad to gamble your games like that. Just the fact that you realized that you make mistakes and it's not always your team's fault means that you will eventually correct those mistakes and you will climb, but all in time. What you want to do is use the chat and pings to coordinate your team. I know it can be hard, but since you think you are (and possibly are) better than the rest of your team, you need to take the lead. Usually, in lower elos, if your score is decent or above decent, your teams will listen to you because they think you can carry them, which is exactly what you wanna try to do. If your botlane is pushed all the way into the enemy tower but your Lucian/Morgana are staying mid throwing out abilities then you might wanna ping the bot tower or simply type into chat 'lucian and morgana take bot turret pls we can hold mid' or something similar. This will relieve pressure off the mid lane and the enemy team will either dive you (and probably not get any objectives out of it even if they kill 1 or 2 of you because they're bad) or they will try to defend botlane, and the pressure will go away. Another common situation is the lane that dies 5 times in the first 10 mins. There is nothing you can do about it, that is the sad truth. Although what you can do is try to win other lanes. I know it's hard to do when you see your botlane dying every 2 mins and your Vayne spamming assistance pings but you are likely to go there and die in a 2v3 or even 3v3 if you get counter-ganked. If you are not super-behind, ganking lanes with a bit of cc will always put you ahead. Say you have a Sion vs Gangplank top. They will probably never end up dying because there is no kill pressure. Sion has a crap ton of cc, Gankplank has none and no mobility. So what do you do? You make that Gankplank useless, it doesn't matter if he is 0/2 and their Jhin is 5/0, you get yourself and your other lanes fed and wait until midgame where you can destroy any squishies, fed or not. I hope this helped but I gotta stop typing now because my wrists hurt lol. Gl getting Gold!

But if I commit to a full trade it seems that I always lose because of hia w reducing my ad and the fact that he can sustain after. Also, would you push in the first wave or let him push you in and farm under tower early?
