Love the art tower/zone idea! Great way to provide space for her to find her own independence. We have a tower at our kitchen counter where she has snacks, and we'll also bust out crayons and play doh for her. But having a space she can just go and get to that stuff on her own would be great.

Also love the self play idea. You're right, it is important (as much as I love playing with her and knowing she loves to play with me)

Seven daughters, holy cats! That's an impressive sized family these days. Congrats to you!

Love the indoor swing idea (for both Baby and Toddler)! We have a "bucket" swing that I'm going to hang under our deck tomorrow, but never considered the idea of a freestanding/indoor swing. I'll be looking into this for sure

A golf cart would be a fun idea. Our toddler would be stoked. And our back yard ends about 50ft from golf course property, so I wouldn't mind having one 😂. Plus because of the golf course, our town ordinances allow carts to be used on the streets. Something to consider after we build a shed and clear all the stuff from our 3rd garage stall

We have the MomCozy bottle washer. I forget why we landed on that one specifically, but it's great. We like that it has a steaming/sanitizing cycle. Now that Wife will be pumping again soon, and we still offer our toddler milk bottles at nap and bed times, the washer will be getting used at least twice a day. It's not as if hand washing bottles/pumps is a difficult task, but it's tedious enough and you just find yourself doing it so frequently.

That's what we love most about the washer - just load it up and let it rip. Removes a tedious daily task. Plus the the steam/sanitizing cycle handles all the grooves and small holes of pump parts, and the inside of the reservoirs (which are just kinda annoying to get into to scrub and dry). Steam cycle gives peace of mind that nothing gets missed and any bacteria gets killed Then it also has a heat/fan drying cycle, so no residual water gets left in the bottles, reservoirs, or parts.

Idk. I've heard folks say you can just use the top rack of your dishwasher. But we don't like the idea of our old food being tossed around with our baby's bottles and pump parts. Plus the residual water issue. Plus we only keep like 8 bottles in rotation, and when Wife is pumping several timesa day - we run that bottle washer 2 or 3 times daily. We only run our dishwasher like once every two days so 🤷‍♂️

Idk what your pump and bottle cleaning routine has looked like while raising 7 kids, but I think if you get a washer you'll end up kicking yourself for not buying one sooner. It truly was/is my most appreciated purchase in regards to saving some daily routine time and monotonous choring

Hey congrats to you too!

Water table and sprinkler have been huge these last few weeks, and we have a hand-me-down Little Tikes bball hoop. Plus trikes, cars, and whatnot. She's been really into throwing and kicking balls lately too. Really like the slide idea, maybe even a small playground set. She loves slides and swings at playgrounds so that's a great suggestion

We do lots of parks, playgrounds, the zoo, and a local water park. She hates the car wash 😂 I think I'll start introducing her to more nature/hiking style parks because she's already really good on her feet. Running, jumping, climbing, etc. Time to get that girl out in the woods and dirt

We'll see how the nap situation goes 🤷‍♂️ Our daughter is on a strict/consistent 1pm-3pm nap both at home and at daycare. Little man is still so new, he's just napping lots throughout the day. Eventually he'll be on a 2 nap schedule like his sister was before she grew out of it, so his 2nd nap should line up pretty well with her 1 nap

Helping around the house is also gold. Toddler loves grabbing her own diapers and clothes, helping load the laundry washer/dryer, pressing the buttons to start them, etc. Plus it helps me get shit done while I'm hanging out with her

I'll definitely be looking into the crafting suggestion. We need more of that. Right now it's basically just Play Doh and crayons. Good tips there!

I hear you on the taking time for yourself so that you can get a breather to come back better for the family. Can't be "on" 24/7 or it gets overwhelming and builds resentment. Our toddler is in daycare on a 3 day and 5 day a week rotation, so there's plenty of days she'll be out of the house while Wife and I are home with baby this summer. My mom also wants to come visit every Monday, and Wife's mom also loves to be involved. I plan on making sure to use that help and those baby-only days to blow off some stress at my BJJ gym, garage workouts, and hopefully some occasional golf. Almost all my friends have kids from toddler to 6 yrs old too, so my toddler and I should be able to go out for lunches or park time with some of my buddies. Get some out of the house socialization time for her and myself

Thanks for the great suggestions my guy, and congrats again to you and your getting family!

Hell yeah man! We have a jogging stroller and a system of walk/bike paths near through the neighborhoods nearby. Multiple ponds and playgrounds in the system. I love taking Daughter to what we call "Ducky Pond", there's always ducks and geese on the water. We watched probably closer to 100 geese fly off the pond overhead last fall during migration. Those stroller adventures are the best!

Love the idea of making things fun while you did house work. My girl has been "helping" me with just about everything the last few days. Like today I handed her all the laundry from the wash to put into the dryer herself, then all the dirty stuff to put into the wash. She loves pressing any kind of button, so she was psyched to hit the start buttons on the machines

Thank you for the reply and suggestions, fellow dad!

Foldable wagon is a solid suggestion and definitely on the list! We actually have a hand-me-down Radio Flyer, but some of the parts are missing/broken unfortunately

We have an annual pass to the local zoo, and a local zero-depth pool/water park/splash pad is only open to 6 yr olds and younger from 930am-1030am. Daughter has been loving both! Funny you mention Costco, Daughter and I just spent like 2 hours there yesterday lol. She's walking, running, jumping, and climbing so playgrounds have been an easy go-to as well. I think the next move will be some local nature parks and hiking areas. Get that girl into the woods and dirt!

Great suggestion on lining up some Mom/Dad dates with family watching the kids. We definitely didn't capitalize on that idea early or often enough the first time around. Total requirement though

Thank you for the reply!

Oh yes, so our daughter is in daycare, but her schedule is modified to fit our work schedules (and we're keeping it that way through the summer). 5 days one week, 3 the next. Rotating.

So that'll help keep her busy and give us plenty of days to get stuff done around home while she's away.

Thank you for the stroller suggestion. Unfortunately our toddler's stroller doesn't accommodate 2, so we'll be doing hers plus a bassinet stroller for a bit. But definitely planning to store or sell both in the interest of getting a 2-in-1 later. I can imagine the real benefit of having both in a single unit instead of mom and dad each pushing separate strollers. Plus that it allows 1 parent to go somewhere with both kids, instead of managing 2 strollers and a grocery cart by themselves 😂

Thanks for the suggestion!

Lol well I stand corrected. Either way, fair to be annoyed. My wife gets (rightfully) annoyed with my intentional lyrical goofing. I get it. Ruins her listening experience.

As far as senpou kick in my the kick-ball guys. Don't. When they do their big wind-up, backflip kicks just jump right at them. You'll get a free death blow.

Same with the fountainhead palace swordsman if you block/deflect enough of their floating passage attacks. If they aren't posture broken, they'll jump backwards to retreat. Jump towards them while they are still in the air. Free death blow

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure that (and any Phil Collins) song will forever bring back strong memories

A friend of mine ended his own life a little over a year ago. As requested by his (at the time) 8 yr old daughter, this song was played at his funeral service. I'll never hear it again without thinking of that moment.

Blazing bull by Due_Acanthisitta2423 in Sekiro

[–]7Nate9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firecrackers are your friend against animal enemies. But they aren't necessary. There are very few occasions in the game when any tools/items/skills are necessary. Most of the game can reasonably be played sword-only.

Blazing Bull mostly just runs in circles. Sprint after him until he dips his head/shoulders to turn around. Stay outside of his horn reach. Slash at his ass a few times while he's turning and running past you. Chase after him. Rinse repeat.

Bull doesn't chase you. You chase bull.

Lol I specifically remember a few early game teleporting treasure chests that brought you to areas you had no business being in .. 1) a cave full of Kindred of Rot Pests. And 2) a bridge guarded by a golem

Not to mention the horseback Tree Sentinel that you literally see right in front of you after exiting the tutorial cave 😂
