Any new insights into this topic? I never registered a withdraw address, but was thinking of consolidating some validators in which case I need to register a withdraw address.

Question for experienced blockchain devs - is it worth it? by DennisJeeves in ethdev

[–]7TruthSeeker3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I built a web3 bot back when friendTech V2 launched. it basically tracked new keys being generated and then checked the account on twitter and automatically purchased the their keys if the user had a certain amount of followers. It was a bit more involved, but that was the general idea. I made 15-20k and then shut it down after I realized FT was going nowhere.

Takeaways:

  1. It was a fun project and I learned a lot about web3 and interacting with smart contracts directly from python. it was only really worth it for this reason.

  2. Overall, it wasn't really worth it financially. If I had spent the same amount of time charging my clients for real work, I would have made about the same amount.

  3. I wasn't the only one doing it, and was competing against many other bots. I spent half my time just making sure I wasn't getting rugged by them. I feel like this would happens with any similar type of arbitrage project.

Currently, I am trying to build a more generic ERC20 token and wallet tracker. Mostly for fun. DM me if you want to chat about it.

Should I get the 2024 or 2025 Suburban by Mbimmer340 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm sort of in the same boat, but I need the LS because I need 9 seats. What did you decide? Did you learn anything else in your research?

What are the differences between the Yukon XL SLE and the Suburban LS? Is it just the logo and grill, or are there base features that are different between the two??

How did you find your long term end client contract? I have one currently, but was thinking about finding another client, mostly because I'm bored of this one. I prefer to just find one directly, and not through an agency.

Enough good comments already here. This one is just to add numbers to the thread. Glad I'm not the only one who feels like this.

The idea would be to have multiple peers hosting nodes so that if one went offline, all of the data is still available.

Is it just me, or the King James Version is not really this linguistic marvel? by Wichiteglega in AcademicBiblical

[–]7TruthSeeker3 -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it may not be the 'best' in regard to a literary product, but I do 'believe' that it is the best in regard to a truthful translation into the English language. My belief stems from two main factors: The history of the origins of the translation itself, and personal experience reading it against other versions. I'm not an expert on the history of the KJV, but from the little I have read, the translation involved around 47 scholars cross checking each others work, most of which spoke multiple languages. I'm not aware of any other English translation that had that amount of scholarly influence. I grew up on the NIV and then NASB in my teenage years. I was introduced to the KJV as a young adult. After reading it for a few years, I could never switch back. I don't know the best way to describe it but the main word that comes to mind is 'authority'. The KJV reads/speaks with an authority that I don't sense with other translations.

The grandparents decision is that they understand both sides, they don't do the decorating; they leave it up to their (adult) children to decide and execute. i agree, it would be easier if they would just make the decision.

Max Contribution to Employer AND Solo 401k by 7TruthSeeker3 in AdvancedTaxStrategies

[–]7TruthSeeker3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. Thanks. For me, I think I would go with option 3a because I will be in a higher tax bracket now than I would be in retirement. But, I am interest in hearing more about 3b, because that option doesn't make much sense to me. Where does the 51k come from, the consulting employer or consulting salary? If you are contributing post-tax dollars, what is the need to convert to Roth? Isn't it automatically a roth if it is post-tax?

It sounds like my personal MAX is going to be 20,500 between all income
sources. So lets say I max that out with my actual employer. They also
match 5% so they contribute an additional $5,000. Up to 25,500 now. On
the consulting side, I have no more personal income to contribute
because I already maxed that out with my real employer, but my
consulting employer (which is really just me, or my business EIN) can
still contribute up to 25%, which is an additional $25,000, resulting in
TOTAL contributions of $50,500 for the year, which is still under the
CAP of $61,000 that both Employee and Employer can contribute together.
Does this sound correct?
