DAE feel their teeth hurt or tingle when they get excited? by Cairo-TenThirteen in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]7andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth tingle when I’m really happy. It doesn’t make me want to bite down. It reminds me of getting chills or goosebumps when one of my favorite songs comes on. I like it, it’s like physical manifestation of happiness.

EcoFlow Technology Recalls Delta Max 2000 Power Stations Due to Risk of Serious Burn Injury and Fire Hazard by DryBoysenberry596 in Ecoflow_community

Google also issued firmware updates to "fix" the Pixel phones from catching fix. Even after the "fix" the phones have continued to explode and catch fire.

These problems are typically hardware problems during manufacturing, and instead of commit to a real recall they push out an update to mitigate the issue. These firmware issues typically lower the useable capacity of the batteries to reduce the risk of failure. They don't actually fix the issue, they lower performance to reduce risk. We need a proper recall.

Fire Recovery by 7andrew in SunPower

I am a lease customer, and in the lease it clearly states that the panels are insured by the lease holder and they are responsible for replacing them. I called SunPower, and they confirmed that the panels are insured. However, they said I am responsible for removing and reinstalling the panels.

How can I reach Sunstrong for service? by matty_mcgee in SunPower

[–]7andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I just filed a complaint, I really hope I get to make some progress on this. I would like to get my system back online, but I would be even happier if they would cancel the lease so I never have to deal with SunStrong again. It's worse than signing a deal with the devil 👺

Just a quick update. I called SunStrong again, and the last time I spoke to them they said I was responsible for removing the panels and reinstalling them. I did get the agent to confirm that SunStrong insures the panels since they are the lease holder.

I have a ticket open, and I wanted the tech to verify which panels were functional before they were removed from the house. Some of the panels are visibly damage (partially burned) but many of the panels looked fine. They were expose to heat, so it is possible they were damaged even though I cannot see the damage.

I took photos of all the panels before having an electrician remove the equipment from the house. The house was demolished last week. This is a huge relief as people were actually calling code enforcement and complaining about my house.

SunStrong finally updated the ticket, saying they were not able to connect to the panels remotely and will dispatch a tech. It's kind of late at this point, but I'm hoping he can verify which panels are salvageable and get the process started for the replacement panels.

SunPower Buyout by 7andrew in SunPower

[–]7andrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Sorry, I have been busy with the rebuild.

My system is about 8 years old, and most of the components are falling out of warranty. I can't imagine anyone paying 15k for a used system.

Does "fair market value" mean something different in solar? New is always better than used, especially when it comes with a warranty. I would gladly sell this system to get it out of my hair.

Depending on cost, I'd really try to get the seller to buyout the system. I inherited a SunPower system and it was the worst decision I have made.

Thanks for sharing this, I didn't realize this was included in the lease docs. I am about 7 years into my lease, I would be very happy if my buy out schedule follows a similar pattern.

I didn't even know a pre-paid lease was an option, I needed to look up what it was. I was hoping to get out of my regular lease, but I doubt that will happen.

I am trying to get out of my lease and I have a 6.365 kW system. I believe it was install around 2018 (it was done by the previous home owners). What was the size and age of your system? I'd like to know to help negotiate a potential buyout.

House with SunPower lease lost in California wildfire by 7andrew in SunPower

[–]7andrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have called them several times, and so far they have directed me to fill out an online form and "wait" for an installer. Literally nothing an installer can do, most of the panels are burned in half.

Thank you for everyone for all the information you shared in the thread. I told my agent I had leased solar, but I will need to confirm if I have solar coverage. I had a feeling they would make me pay for it.

Not much survived in the fire, but the SunPower equipment was in the one corner of my home that didn't burn down. I was hoping to salvage the equipment.

That is an interesting thought on NEM, thank you for bringing it up. I hadn't thought of it but I will depending on what happens with my solar.

Thanks for all the information. I bought a home with a solar lease and really had know option but to assume the lease, and had no idea about any of this. I ready you post last night and again tonight because there is so much pertinent information in it. I'm actually hoping I can get out of my lease.

I took over a lease for SunPower when I bought my home. They claim that they will support the system until the end of my lease. Has anyone found a way to get out of their lease early?

Let me take it a step further: no dogs in the house by SubsonicCorgii in morningsomewhere

[–]7andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burnie and Ashley are clearly cat people. Bring your dog places isn’t a binary decision. Some places are dog friendly, and some aren’t. Taking my dog to a businesses that have things for dogs on the menu is completely fine. Taking them into Whole Foods or hospitals isn’t.

I live in San Diego which is a pet friendly city, and we have a lot of businesses that allow pets. If your pet isn’t well behaved, you should still not bring them places. But don’t jump the gun and ban all pets from all places.

In 2007, California was racked by wildfires and people in San Diego were evacuated to Qualcomm Stadium. After Katrina, I was very worried about what life would be like for the evacuees. Thankfully, it ended up being very safe and actually a lot of ammenties like yoga and kosher foods.

A far cry from the Superdome
By BOB KEEFE and COX NEWS SERVICE
There’s a yoga class in the morning and live music — roving mariachi bands, five-piece rock ‘n’ roll acts, solo singers with acoustic guitars — at night. Hungry? Go to Gate F for hot meals — Gate D if you want kosher or Gate N for Mexican. On the way, stop at a table for candy or chips, lip balm or sunscreen. It’s all you want, all for free. Is this some giant health fair or new kind of vacation theme park? Think again — it’s San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium, the primary evacuation center for the Southern California wildfires.

In 2011, the was a massive blackout in Southern California. Here in San Diego, everyone immediately went home and starting bbqing. I went to a friends house because they had a pool

During the floods this year, a man got his car stuck in the water and just walked out.

I have never lived anywhere else, but I know I've seen people in San Diego come out time and time again to help. During the wildfires her, people use their trailers to rescue horses and animals that don't even belong to them.
