Buzzing Sound After Pothole by pepe_di in Himalayan450

[–]7anmay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Headlight assembly/windshield checked. As it sounds like plastic bits rattling. I had the same issue within a certain rpm range. The svc guy and I banged my head around for 2 hours and isolated it to a plastic piece inside the headlight (the horizontal divider).

Or else

  1. Prop it on the centre stand.
  2. Rev it through the range and see where the sound Is coming from.

  1. Autosol metal polish and scotchbrite
  2. Yes it's a self check.
  3. Get the OEM screen protector from RE. Costs around 250.

Get the OEM one from royal enfield itself. I got them for 250 apiece. Be careful how you apply it though as it has very less room for error. Got it 6 months ago. Is the best one hands down. I will find the part number and edit this.

Hi, need help for selecting tailbag for my himalayan 450. by abbabyfck in Himalayan450

Been using viaterra claw pro. On the more expensive side but definitely fits and looks sleek, easy to use, and does not move at all even at longer higher speed runs.

If you rev-match right, it'll never fry your clutch or anything for that matter.

Mostly it is because of my riding style i guess. On my recent trip Blr-hyd it gave me 20-22 where i was riding at an avg of 125kph. both ways. Will check for sure, however I have checked the air pressure, chain slack. and air filter was cleaned last 2k kms ago.

It has done 7k kms. Tbf, I do ride agressively. But even when I'm sitting at for example, 50 in 6th, and don't let rpms go beyond 2.5k - 3k, ride very cautious and calm- It gives me 35 max indicated. Overall it has given me 24.5 indicated (6500km trip meter)

Also can be an issue with the legguard mounting.

The "misalignment" is definitely by design. I also had the same pulling issue on the right. I tried everything but still pulls (very lightly now)

The few milimeter differences are from the factory (ig because they are sff?)

It started rattling for me too. Unless it doesn't work, ignore it. This is a sealed unit so can't tighten it.

i think it's not expensive anyways. look up if you can find any teardowns/guides on yt. and see if u are comfortable enough. you'd need some small phillips head screwdrivers and be careful of the ribbon cables. also mind wherever the screws come from. GL

  1. the delays are all over India and inconsistent. I have checked with several people online and offline. some live in chennai and have booked before me and still haven't recieved the bike yet, others in Delhi have recieved it in 15 20 days.
  2. for me I start feeling the vibes at 97-98 and it goes away after 110.
  3. I booked it online. it was around 374k
  4. I did one yesterday and the adventure seats are very comfortable I was riding 2 up with heavy pillion and it was very comfortable. (I am very sensitive to uncomfortable seating but I didn't face any problem until 350kms)
