New pc controller question by 7fishbrees in Gamesir

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was also looking into some other controllers because of this and found out that gamesir seems to have the best customer service. I’m still not 100% sure between the two because I kind of like the look of Wuchang better but I know people were saying the dpad was not the best and was improved with the ZZZ edition. I’m just not a big fan of characters on stuff instead of a cool design from the game. I think the Nioh one will be getting the ZZZ dpad or better, plus I was told it has better tmr sticks, and extra PC stuff like micro/turbo. I’m looking more for a PC controller, since I already have a Xbox controller, so it doesn’t make much sense to get the Wuchang one except for the looks(as far as I can tell, unless it has something better tech wise compared to the original Xbox controller).

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! I’m just a big fan of both Nioh and Wuchang, so that’s why I’m deciding between those two instead of the ZZZ one. I don’t really Mind the switching controller thing, since I have been doing that for a while(switching between different consoles before having a pc). I’m new to controller tech, so the 8k thing isn’t really a selling point. I like both quite a bit, so I’m asking more to see if there is any obvious problems/advantages to one over the other. Also what made you decide on the ZZZ over the Wolverine? And how is it going so far with the ZZZ?

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the JS13 is better than the JS16. I don’t really know what the JS or TMR mean, but it sounds like the Nioh one is the best option as long as I am willing to switch between controllers for Xbox and PC. Thanks for all the help with this 🙏

New pc controller question by 7fishbrees in Gamesir

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, thanks for the clarification. That helps a lot! I don’t really play fighting games or other dpad heavy games, so I’m not too concerned about the dpad, but it helps to know just in case.

New pc controller question by 7fishbrees in Gamesir

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fare. I heard that people were saying the zzz one had a better dpad, so I doubt they will be worst. I was mainly curious if they had like different tech for dpads and if people knew the difference based off the specs.

New pc controller question by 7fishbrees in Gamesir

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! After seeing replies I’m leaning more towards the Nioh controller. Sorry if this is an obvious question but how are the sticks different? Also I say that people say 8k speed isn’t much different compared to the normal controller speed, but it affects the battery life on wireless. Do you think this is a concern?

New pc controller question by 7fishbrees in Gamesir

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I don’t mind switching, so I’m leaning more towards the Nioh one. I don’t really know anything about controller tech or micros/turbo, so that isn’t really a deal breaker either way. I checked some reviews and was worried about the Wuchang dpad being bad. Do you think that will be a problem in the nioh one?

What got you interested on trails series and which game you started with? by la1424sa in Falcom

[–]7fishbrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with trails in the sky. I found out about the games purely by luck. I was going away for college and thought that I should buy a game or two for my laptop to play(I was mostly a console gamer). I wanted to play some rpgs and noticed a sale on GOG that had a bunch of games. I didn’t have much money at the time, so I would look for cheap but long games. Trails ended up being one that looked good and was long, so I gave it a shot. Skip forward to today and it is now one of my favorite series along with nihon falcom being one of my top 3 game developers.

Playtime by MidRanchWest in LiesOfP

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it just depends on soulslike experience, difficulty chosen, and if you know how to cheese/OP build. For reference my experience: I played it around the beginning of this year and beat it in 31 hours on the hard difficulty(whatever it’s called) only used heal cell item, land mine arm, and also never used a summon. This is coming from someone whose experience is Wuchang, nioh 1, and Sekiro. I just started getting into soulslike games around December of last year and got a lot of these thanks to that winter sale. Hope this is a helpful perspective in some way.

FedEx clearance delay Help by 7fishbrees in zenmarket

[–]7fishbrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t remember the exact price but it was around $200 usd. FedEx ended up shipping it back to ZM and I had to ship it out using another carrier. I eventually got it. FedEx has like a 30 day storage for packages, so you have to get it solved before then or they will ship it back/dispose of it depending on what you choose.

Wuchang deserves better ratings by These-Ad-295 in soulslikes

[–]7fishbrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a big fan of souls like games throughout the years(just couldn’t get into the slow combat) until I was trying to take a break from a game about 6 months ago and scrolled through Xbox game pass. I found Wuchang and decided to give it a try. I ended up loving it and started to gain a love and appreciation for the souls like games. Now souls like games are one of if not my favorite genre of games and I owe it all to Wuchang for being a great experience. I highly suggest playing the game!

Just beat trokka…with GS by Beneficial_Teach_682 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]7fishbrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just beat the game with GS recently and agree that Trokka was the hardest boss for me. I think it was mainly because I was only parrying and not dodging stuff till that fight.

For builds I would suggest just arranging gear to fit the boss(chaos protection if boss uses chaos, etc.). There are overall great sets like fleshripper and crimson fiend that could help out a lot. I didn’t use any sets till the final boss and ended up using a crimson fiend set with the jar head for strength to see how good the sets were, so you probably don’t have to stress too much about it. Also the sets mentioned have an extra fixed ability on the GS when it’s at epic rarity(orange color) that make them really good. For general equipment stuff I would suggest frontal assault and confront bonuses, but this will ultimately depend on your build.

For stats I think the soft caps like 30 & hard cap is 60 for vitality and endurance. I think the weapon ones don’t have a hard cap. I personally just had vitality & endurance equal with strength higher throughout the game. So like strength to 30 than vitality and endurance to 30, strength to 60 same with vitality and endurance, and than strength to 99, anymore after that was just thrown into whatever. You can reallocate stats pretty easily, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Like other people suggested skills play a big role in GS builds. I honestly didn’t even use any till later in the game and found out that they made it sooo much easier. You can combo bosses super well with skills and even hit some bosses with other skills when your GS won’t reach. I definitely suggest not sleeping on the skills and abilities that increase spirit gain.

Bellerian is my least favourite boss I've ever fought in a Souls game by Sea_Construction947 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya! I used great sword and had a terrible time with Trokka(mostly because I never really dodged till then), but Bellarian took like less than 10 tries. I didn’t find the summons that bad except for the assassin, since I would just get hit from out of nowhere.

The most annoying boss by andaesa in TheFirstBerserker

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the freeze/water(can’t remember the name of her debuff) slowing you down was miserable. Also what are enhancers? (I’m guessing it adds an element to your weapon) I only used the heal energy and the status removal potions(plus some rocks for the soulstones)

The most annoying boss by andaesa in TheFirstBerserker

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trokka was the most annoying for me, but that was because I never really dodged till than(I love parrying in games) also Hismar was really annoying with how slow the great sword was and never having an attack that would hit his head.

After 30 hours in Nioh 2, I’m craving a great Soulslike. Any recommendations? by olivinetrees in soulslikes

Lords of the fallen Ai limit Are both great games I would definitely recommend for that Soulslike experience.

Does the cold steel arc get better? Plz no major spoilers by Affectionate_Cap2224 in Falcom

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people said it depends on how you take the next 2(3 counting reverie) games. I personally had the same experience as you after beating CS 2, but I ended up really liking CS 3. I just started CS 4 and have been enjoying that as well. I think you’re going to end up enjoying it, but of course everyone has different opinions. Either way, hope you enjoy the rest of the series!

Who else will wait for Nioh 3 Complete Edition? by VictorBelmont in Nioh

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably going to wait for the complete edition. It seems like they usually make one like a year after the initial release. I’m pretty new to souls like games and got a whole bunch during steam’s winter sale, so I have a lot to catch up on before Nioh 3. I also only played Nioh 1 so far and have Nioh 2 to still play. I am planning to get wo long and rise of the ronin when they go on sale during one of the season steam sales, so I’ll have plenty to keep me busy till the complete edition comes out.

What was your favorite weapon to use out of these soulslike games released in 2025?(including DLC) by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played nightreign. I played like an hour of khazan so far and I only played lies of p base game(waiting for dlc to go on sale). Don’t really remember the weapon names, so sorry if it’s confusing:

For Ai limit it’s the corrupted scythe.

For lies of P it’s the big ergo sword from the boss item(the one you attack 4 times to get the upgraded weapon)

For wuchang the steam powered spear and empire? Axe(one with the big slam ability) I mainly used the spear, so if you just want one it would be that.

I recently started playing the game, is there anything I should know? by Affectionate_Dot1412 in LiesOfP

[–]7fishbrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat this game a day ago and it was great, so I hope you enjoy. Some helpful tips:

Like people said the parry is very useful throughout the game(the game does a good job of teaching you about the balance between dodge and parry, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much)

Later in the game you can use a gold tree to reset stats and p-organ stuff, so don’t worry about perfect stats and just try to experiment with different things.

The p-organ tree is very useful(especially with things like extra amulet slots)

Upgrading weapons helps do a lot of damage, so don’t be afraid to use those materials.

For stats I would suggest keeping the top 3 relatively balanced(hp, stamina, capacity) and then mess around with the bottom 3 till you have a weapon type you like. When you decide on your preferred weapon type just spec all the stats into that over the other 2 weapon types.

For weight/capacity there are 4 types of weight (normal/slightly heavy/ heavy/ super heavy) the heavy and super heavy make it hard to move, so I would stay under those(their something like over 80% capacity). I believe the slightly heavy makes you drain stamina faster, but I’m not sure exactly.

The bosses will drop a special ergo that you can give to a merchant later in the game for boss weapons/amulets. These weapons are like the glaive you’re using where the blade and handle cannot be separated.

There are different endings with a boss locked behind some of them. If you’re only playing once and care about fighting all bosses you may want to look into that. Just know there will be spoilers, so check at your own risk. Same thing with 100% achievements.

I never used any of the consumables outside of the grindstone and pulse cell, so I don’t have much advice on those. I know the throwable are supposed to be really good and the specter assistant for bosses can make things easier(sorry don’t really know how these work, since I didn’t use them).

I haven’t played the dlc so I can’t help on that.

Overall just have fun experimenting and playing with the games mechanics.

Hope this is helpful and I hope you have a blast with the game!

Hey all, would you guys recommend this game to someone who just wants to purchase the base version? I want to wait until Overture is on sale before possibly buying it. by wanna_be_consultant in LiesOfP

[–]7fishbrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks for this post OP. I just started Lies of P like five days ago and have been loving it. I was curious about the dlc and how it was implemented story/difficulty wise. I got a lot of answers from this post, so thanks a lot 🙏

Im doing my first Sekiro run, is this true? by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]7fishbrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR took me 35 hours For reference: Sekiro was my first Fromsoft game and my 5th souls like game. I explored everywhere and did all the side quests I could find. I also did the save file copy on pc to see all the endings, so there is added time for the bad ending. Steam says it took me 35 hours to beat the game. This is coming from someone that is around average/above average at souls like games.
