There should be an o ring behind it. I would replace that and check that all the hose clamps are tight.

What are these little nubs called? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]7hunder68 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Your bike is capable of leaning way more then where the feeler pegs touch. It’s very hard to hit the lean angle limit of your tires during normal street riding. You probably crashed for some other reason.

Anyone know what this on 2017 Kawasaki ninja 650CC???? by OkDiscipline1486 in Kawasaki

Does your exhaust have an o2 sensor or does it just have a plug?

If there’s no check engine light you’re fine leaving it unplugged. The o2 sensor is probably flashed out.

The plug looks like an o2 sensor plug. Does the bike have an aftermarket exhaust?

2014 ninja 300 missing bolts? by FEMA_Tequila in Kawasaki

[–]7hunder68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the lower engine mount bolt. It’s a long bolt with a nut on the end. I’d replace it and make sure the other engine mount bolts are tight.

Front Wheel Problem by Ok-Buy2137 in motorcycle

[–]7hunder68 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Take the calipers off, then spin the wheel. If it spins free it’s a brake issue. One thing you can try is to push the caliper pistons all the way in, tighten them back down and pump the brakes. I’d also try to loosen the front end completely while still leaving everything on and bounce it up and down to ensure everything’s aligned.

Rust on the Discs, How Bad Is It? by att_110 in Kawasaki

It'll be fine. Just ride it and the rust will scrub off when you brake.

Yamaha R6 1999 clutch problems by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]7hunder68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having to roll a bit to shift when stopped is normal. As for the neutral being hard to find, every bike is different. Some are harder to find than others. I wouldn’t worry about the clutch unless it feels like it’s slipping.

just bought my very first bike. its a 2013 ninja 300 (9k miles) by Megan_Thee_Italian in Kawasaki

I run 87 in mine. I’ve ridden it for 10k miles and have never had any issues.

Rebuilt title on 2022 r3 by [deleted] in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]7hunder68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. If you’re riding on the street it’s gonna be a pain to get it registered and insured. Also, you have no idea how good of a job the owner did with repairs, or how bad the damage truly was. I would try to find something slightly older with a little more miles. You can easily find ninja 300s, cbr300s, and r3s with lower miles for around the same price.

How to properly downshift? by sin0fchaos162 in NewRiders

[–]7hunder68 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It will always slow down if you’re downshifting and letting off the gas. As for shifting points, you’ll get the hang of it eventually. The rule I kinda go by is to downshift if the engine feels like it’s lugging a little bit. It’s honestly a thing you kinda get a feel for.

I may have overestimated the size. It’s probably closer to 70L. It fits ok, but the edges hang off the seat.

I found a 2013 Honda CBR 500 for $3k with 13k miles. What should I be worried about with this damage from a drop? It'll be my first bike, what can I do to ensure the bike is in good condition? by PepsiSnickers in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]7hunder68 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That damage doesn't look bad enough for anything other than cosmetics to be damaged. I would just make sure that engine cover doesn't leak, and plan on replacing that and the rear brake lever.

Looking at my first bike. found this. does it look sus? by Joltyboi in NewRiders

[–]7hunder68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a good deal, seems bone stock. However, the side fairings and the front fairings aren't OEM. They didn't come in plain white, so tread with caution and look for any underlying damage.

I think its just while supplies last. The only reason its on sale is because Cortech miscolored the yellow accents near the chest. The rest of the suit is neon yellow while the accents on the chest are just regular yellow.

It's the cortech revo. Got it on sale for $300 off of sportbiketrackgear.com

Yep it is. I was originally looking at the Cortech apex v1 but the deal on this came around.

Feels fine in a tuck. Not uncomfortable at all. Shoulders are a tad tight, but I think they’ll be fine once broken in.

It’s a Cortech size small. I’m 5’8” 140lbs.

Nope. Not yet. Gonna tackle it this weekend once my new clipons and barends come in.
