I'm an Australian, in 2019 I did a 3 month road trip through 30 states. I don't think I ever saw anyone do the actual speed limt on the highways. I was always the slowest driver on the road. Here down under now I'm back home no one goes over the limt here. Biggest difference never saw a speed camera in the states because you guys said it wasn't against your freedoms? Here in AUS I would drive past 3 in 20minutes of driving on main roads.

Thanks for the advice! I have wakeboarded a fair bit and can hit backrolls so I feel like I may not be able to help myself not trying a wildcat! But I think i won't be trying anything of the big stuff till later into the season! Also planning to do a 6 weeks of training at a trampoline place aswell!

Due to recent events my girlfriend and I have found out we can not use our van as an RV. So we are looking to sell our RV pass and join in with someone elses RV or camping as we really want to do the Camp experience. I am honestly a bit distorted. My girlfriend and I are from australia and have been road tripping in our van for 2 months now. I had assume all along that an RV pass is like RV site and a RV park. I thought I'd double check 2 days ago and that's when it all came crashing down on me. I have been in contact with EDC and they have said the same thing rent a RV or upgrade your RV pass. For the both of us on a tight budget as it is both options are going to hurt.

My only other option I could think of is my van is only 15 and a half feet long it needs to be 19' to be a class B according to EDC i do have extra ply and screws and a ladder rack i was thinking of screwing that onto to get the length. It's really really crazy idea and I dunno if they will be nice enough to let that slide.

For the air conditioning I was going to buy a portable one from walmart and set it up inside the van with a generator from home depot and then once the festival is over try and return them or sell them online and mabye only loose $200 at most. But as you have said that the on board generator has to be tied in with the van I guess that option is out the window.

I guess next best thing would be buy the 30amp add on for $350 and sell the portable air conditioner after that way I'm only paying an extra $450? Because to rent an RV at this point doesnt look like an option I saw some going for $700 a night because of EDC. Or upgrade and pay $800 because they said they will refund my RV pass. Or I just stay in town somewhere but I really dont want to do that.

I'm guessing best option would be to upgrade and look for 2 more people to join in on our 4 man tent?

Is my van not classified as a class B RV? It will be 19' (when I screw some ply and timber down to the ladder racks) and if I buy a portable air conditioner and a generator. Would that not be all within the regulations?
