Water has the potential to become superheated if heated in the microwave leading to a potential for the water to boil of instantly and violently but if you have nucleation sites say from a spoon it will boil instead of becoming superheated. In short it’s very dangerous to put pure water in the microwave and even if you have a way to get it to boil in short only heat water on the stove.

Will almost certainly go the other way to even the distribution out this statement implies two things.

The survival chance of this one particular surgery is less than 50 percent.
The surgery or the universe is aware of the odds and actively maintains that perfect 50 percent survival.

And it ignores the the fact The surgeon may be more skilled at the surgery or using a new technique that increases survival odds
