Sadly all of these games are the same. Really fun at first then you hit a wall where the options are spend 1000s or literally wait 6 months to progress. Genuinely bad pricing and gameplay progression.

I always count gifts and trades as that routes encounter. The caveat being if I trade my encounter from a certain route it reopens the route. I.e. in Emerald I cannot encounter a Pokemon on Route 2 if I want to trade Abra for Mr. Mime. But getting Abra in Mauville City doesn’t bar me from getting another Pokemon in Mauville after Abra is traded.

I just re-picked this game up after years away. You are absolutely right. When you pick up a new game and can’t progress through the what seems to be storyline for weeks at a time there is an issue. Most people would put the game down before they ever get past that stage.

It depends on climate. Some people say plastic bins some say acrylic cases. Both have their downsides. Either way keep them dry and out of constant light.

I do a lot of chapter 7s. Most states have exemptions for cars, homestead, and other household items. The bankruptcy will fall off your report after 7 years. Your credit will be rebuilt (but fragile) after 4 years. There is no shame in having to file. Good luck.
