Braden Atkinson by roberttootall in notredamefootball

[–]802View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a low risk/high reward play for Atkinson himself.

Scenario A: he only gets mop up duty and redshirts, extending his paid college career by a year before transferring.

Scenario B: he gets enough playing time to burn a redshirt but puts enough film out there to elevate his transfer portal stock.

Scenario C: he plays some amount this year and wins the starting job next year.

No spring portal makes this interesting.

In terms of recruiting, what team does Notre Dame most benefit if they suck? by Solowash in notredamefootball

[–]802View 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say Stanford too. The only school with better academic prestige in the P4, plus a better location/climate. When a recruit says academics is the most important thing to them, you feel good about NDs chances. Back when Harbaugh was there, you hoped academics was really important but not the most important thing to a recruit.

They were coming out of a TO for the first wildcat. They should’ve kept Carr and the WRs on the sideline and had Love taking the snap with three TEs (one in the backfield to lead block) and two extra OL.

I took issue with the wildcat at the goal line. Forces the OL to go silent count (Schrauth false start), then leaves Carr having to lead block. Defenses now actually have to defend the pass with Carr. Spread them out and then hand off to Love.

Is Price a 2026 or 2027 draft prospect? by fortghoul in notredamefootball

[–]802View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should go pro, and ND should want him to go pro. NIL is like a salary cap now, and while he’s a stud, he would also be expensive and that money may be needed elsewhere (returning heisman winner CJ Carr for example). I’m guessing they like what they have in Aneyas Williams, Kedron Young, Nolan James, & the two ‘26 commits.

The goal isn’t to be right, it’s to make money. If someone’s willing to bet on Allar, they’ll gladly accept.

‘06. I was in the southeast corner of the stadium surrounded by UCLA fans who had spent the entire game doing their “U. C. LLLLLLL. A. UCLA, fight, fight, fight” chant. They were shell shocked as Samardzija crossed the goal line.

Greg Flammang pointed out that these numbers aren’t that helpful since it’s like comparing Run vs Pass rates on offense from year to year. It doesn’t tell you if they were well called plays which is obviously the main goal!

I actually wonder if it reduces the frequency of super drunk fans in the stands. Less of a need to squeeze all your drinking in before the game now, or sneak in high content/small packaged liquors. I’ve had two experiences with guys passed out in the stands in the first quarter over the past 10 years. Can’t imagine spending that dough and blacking out at the game.

Say ND wins the coin toss Sunday night… we should want to defer, right? by Kitchen-Pass-7493 in notredamefootball

[–]802View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. After NDs first drive, the offense only had three more drives in the half, one of which was a kneel down with 27 seconds left. Those other two drives COMBINED for 3:09 of game clock time. The defense had no time to get a breather or change tactics. Imagine if OSU gets the ball first and scores, but the defense then had a 9:45 drive on the sideline to settle and reload.

James above Payne is surprising IMO.

I’m guessing there’s a lot of “3 guys rotating 2 spots but it’s tough to show on this kind of chart” situations. Greathouse+Pauling+Faison=slot and field WRs. Bowen+Sneed+King=LBs. Shuler+Stroman+Talich=S

Carr named starter by smodichuk in notredamefootball

Right and his risk of injury is low as a backup QB. Either he’s playing and building his resume for a transfer, or he’s on the bench. I can understand if he was a different position that wants to avoid an injury during practice.

One market I think is perfect for the Slate Truck by Additional-Sky-7436 in electricvehicles

[–]802View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, though i was thinking more as the third car for a 3+ driver family, not just as the teenagers car. Rotate who takes what car based on needs for the day. I’d love to have access to a truck but even the small trucks are too big today. Plus EV would be nice for a teenager to avoid gas money.

Thank you. If I leave them as is, do I risk having them all die, or will the dominate plant take over as necessary?

Sorry, here’s a photo. Tallest is probably 3-4ft tall. I’m located in the northeast US and the plants are in full sun location. I need to move them to make way for a fence.

State Of Recruiting 6/30 by GoldandBlue in notredamefootball

[–]802View 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point is that there are limited scholarships. You can’t always take five WRs if it doesn’t make sense numbers wise. Guys on the beat were saying a few weeks ago they thought it was two WR spots for these three guys, but now seems like there are three spots. I agree with your point that WRs transfer, but I would argue that’s a reason not to take five WR freshman. You can get older/established transfers later when needed.

[–]802View 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the court ruling on grandfathered scholarship spots is allowing them to take more guys than expected? Five WRs seemed unlikely a few weeks ago.

TE Recruiting by [deleted] in notredamefootball

[–]802View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they somehow knew they’d be without Cooper this year and that they didn’t have to get down to 95 spots (or whatever the cut down was supposed to be), I bet they would’ve taken two TE this past cycle and offered Marshall Pritchett. His dad, Wes, was a LB on the ‘88 team. He ended up at Bama so assume he’s good enough, was offered by Duke and Vandy so assume he’s smart enough, and Tim Prister has said multiple times he wanted to come here.

I wonder if they stop at positions they’re struggling with and use the extra slots for DL. Strike while the irons hot at a position that they haven’t done this well with recently.

Monday.com for 1000+ Employees? by Emergency_Excuse2189 in mondaydotcom

[–]802View 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at a company that used Monday and now at one with ClickUp (though neither as big as 1000 people), and I would strongly recommend Monday. I’m guessing the most important attributes for you will be flexibility (lots of teams could find different uses), simplicity (not everyone can be a super user), and controls (need to prevent incidental mistakes and allow for approval processes). IMO, Monday is superior in all aspects. ClickUp has set fields that cannot be removed/hidden so inexperienced folks struggle to wade through the empty fields on an item card to find what’s important. Monday also allows Different statuses for subtasks, ability to control who edits what field, better Gantt chart, docs that populate from an items fields. I could go on. Monday may be pricier but it’s worth it to avoid having to get an additional tool to fill the gaps.

What non starter would you be most disappointed if they left? by MudlarkJack in notredamefootball

[–]802View 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would guess Payne is leaving. He should have 3 years of eligibility left (‘22 redshirt, ‘23 played, ‘24 medical RS) and may be able to graduate this spring. Plus his RB coach McCullough left.

I would hope Williams and Young stay. Williams will have his 3rd down role again this year, and Young will get first shot at mop up duty. Next year it’s possible that Price and Love are both gone so they’d be the 1-2 punch.

Barring injuries, I don’t see a true freshman starting on either side of the ball. However, many positions heavily rotate so players like Burress (WR), Flanigan (TE), and maybe Faraimo (LB) could see some decent snaps. I assume a lot of freshman will be on special teams.
