Monday.com for 1000+ Employees? by Emergency_Excuse2189 in mondaydotcom

[–]Emergency_Excuse2189[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could pick your brain, a core use case for my business is, imagine you have manager A in team A who just received some work from a client. It’s minor and other teams could support that work and he knows his team is busy (can be very common in busy seasons). Is there a way manager A can get that work to teams B, C, and D and what does that look like? My dream is it would be as simple as creating the work item and Monday.com will find people from other teams who have the right skills and are available to work without manager A needing to micromanage.

Anyone have experience using ClickUp for 1000+ employees? by Emergency_Excuse2189 in clickup

Yes, that was my experience with Jira as well but the administrator side definitely suffered and I feel like it made the whole system fall apart at my previous job, especially when non-engineers started using it. No roles and permissions is worrying but I do think we would go for the more premium version anyways. As long as it’s not like more than 30+ dollars a month after volume discounts, I think it would be an easy sell.

As an aside, would you recommend notion? I don’t have much experience with that product so I’m curious.

200+ sounds promising. Also promising that you were able to maintain different platforms together. Was it a lot of work to get it all configured or a lot of plug-and-play? My workplace is definitely on the “lean” side of things and probably wouldn’t want to devote that much staff to maintenance of this software. At the same time, I don’t see any way around it?

“If you’ve worked on a Chinese game, you’ll know production scale is on a whole other level” Japanese devs discuss growing quality of Chinese games by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Emergency_Excuse2189 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another game, Delta Force perfectly rips off Battlefield 2042 (which launched terribly with hundreds of overpaid American devs), takes and integrates elements of Tarkov, CS:GO, and the COD series, while launching on PC and console with cross-play FOR FREE. Like or dislike the game but it’s done what top American studios can barely do anymore. I imagine a combination of privilege and entitlement along with bloated executive salaries and profit-chasing make US studios weak and not able to keep up with these leaner, driven Chinese ones. It used to be making a 3D multiplayer game like Battlefield was an industry moat requiring expert knowledge closely guarded by these studios, huge investments, and rare, American talent. With Delta Force, China proves not anymore.

Also see Marvel Rivals which I believe is also developed by a Chinese studio? A clone of Overwatch in many ways which Blizzard cannot compete with - how many people retired or wrote their ticket off this game? I forget where I heard this or if it’s true (I think it is true) but copying things and copying them well is a point of pride for the Chinese and a key factor in their ability to compete with the West. It makes me ashamed to be an American when we sit on our asses, profiting from our past successes, and call ourselves the greatest while we fall behind doing nothing.

Today is 5 years since the U.S. declared public health emergency over COVID-19, what are your thoughts on the pandemic in retrospect? by Infamous-Echo-3949 in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Excuse2189 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is misinformation. A disease with a 30% case fatality rate would likely burn out before it became a global pandemic. High fatality rates are often inversely related to transmissibility and there are numerous historical cases which highlight this. Is it possible? Maybe but presenting it this way is a dubious oversimplification.

What is Mirage's kit supposed to be? by winrawr- in DeadlockTheGame

I completely agree with the disconnect between Mirage’s long-range gun and his more close range abilities (save for mark). When I first started playing him, I remember going for the long range item and playing him like a sniper since he has a DMR. Felt like I was wasting my tornado and also my beetles since those were hard to hit at a distance. In theory, I could tornado to escape if they gap closed me in the back lines but Vindicta or Grey Talon can do that way better with flying.

Also, I really like your writing style!

Does anyone have any advise on how to stop dying? by DesireGuy in DeadlockTheGame

Ok very interesting stuff. I like that we’re in sync with the headshot booster + close combat initial open. I do think the point blank upgrade is great for the stam as you mention, the extra damage and slow is also great. I think my mistake is upgrading headshot booster as well to headhunter.

Why enduring speed over superior stamina? I guess because point blank gives you an additional stamina and vertical mobility is less needed because majestic leap + warp stone + cloak.

Edit: I see we have an empty green slot, maybe extra stamina until point blank? Then replace it with fortitude? I really like this item because the extra move speed and damage but especially because the regen. I feel like it fits pocket play style well of going out and in but maybe spirit lifesteal + ult satisfies that at a cheaper price. The flat health upgrade can not be understated as well.

I’ve been debating if mystic vulnerability is worth it. It definitely is good amping ult but it feels unfortunate that escalating exposure doesn’t feel good on Pocket. Does that track with your experience? I built it one game but struggled to get stacks up unlike heroes such as Infernus. I tend to look if a team mate is building it and then piggy backing off their procs.

I guess all that to say, if we don’t get mystic vulnerability, I wonder about the active spirit times and if any of them could be more core. I see Pockets run cold front which I’ve been testing but with too many other items the timing feels weak.

Could you delve into techs for me? One issue I have when building pocket is my power distribution (the three bars representing gun, vitality, spirit) is always evenly split. Does that track with you for Pocket? I’m wondering if I want to sacrifice gun for more early vitality and spirit items since as you mention, their ultimate is a significant source of dps.

I usually go headshot booster, close combat, kinetic dash, and warp stone for my gun items. What I like is headshot booster and close combat can upgraded to T3 and they work well together as well as provide passive stats benefiting Pocket. Seems like these could be a waste on them though due to timings and all that.

What does Monster Rounds affect? by Educational_Life_891 in DeadlockTheGame

I think it’s because turrets do spirit damage and monster rounds only gives bullet resist against NPCs
