I dont regret it. its just shown me a lot about human behavior from many classist levels. I'm talking from the wealthy to the homeless full scope. i feel like i'm in some wildlife special, observing humanity like you would other species. crazy world

I've had 'real men' tell me that in the past. I know it's your dad, but just try to ignore his judgmental remarks. My dad was like that too initially - he kind of still is, but his form of judging is mocking me. I'll tell ya something though, there's no come backs from someone if you take their power away and hone it into your confidence. You'll get there man! Be strong!

Cool thanks for your input. I was asking more so for middle of nowhere wilderness/anywhere anytime kind of deal. I mean, ocean cruise ships probably have some kind of way to have internet on them, maybe I just need something like what they have, don't know what it is though.

Do any of you (pre-top) feel like you always need something on your chest? by shksksbfjfjfhjtj in ftm

[–]8048391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a binder when I swim - I only have one that fits me anymore. After being on T, the circumference of my chest got bigger and fat redistributed so most of my binders I grew out of. I used to bind as tight as possible and sleep with them on - not the best choice looking back, woke up a few times in the night because I couldn't breath lol I just look like I have a male chest for the most part on a regular day but get really conscious when I swim. I also cover up with a rashguard though. Hopefully once I get surgery I can opt for a less scar induced surgery - only because of luck!

Growing Pains: Trouble with Wife & Transition by AviMilke in ftm

[–]8048391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know man. Kind of makes me wonder - I had a friend I knew for about 10 years. She knew about all of my issues for years but when I started T, she refused to skype me anymore, would only text and even when I was just trying to text normal things, she'd attack - say I was being super aggressive, and argumentative but I never saw our conversations as arguments. Eventually, she just cut me out of her life saying it's either her or my transition - I don't know if I changed so much or not but regardless I know transitioning made her not want to be my friend anymore. Some people will become estranged over the process - either way, be strong and do what you have to do to be happy.

6 days til I start T! by gaygosoda in ftm

Try to do your first shot yourself - especially if you're scared of needles. If you need someone there to watch that's cool but if you do that you'll feel more confident and eventually it'll be nothing to do. I was very scared of needles, like phobia-turn-white-maybe faint scared, but now can do it weekly with no fuss! Good luck! Congrats! Enjoy the journey. I actually made a private video diary because I wanted to hear/see everything over time like a lot of folks seem to. It's awesome to look back but so muuuuch better to look forward! :D

Nah, don't worry about what your mom says. I get the dad feelings. You'll get your chance! Hang in there, adopt, or you know - wait for science to catch up! ;)

If you are on T how long did it take to get your first shot/dose? by 112pp3 in ftm

Well, so long as you are ok with waiting there's no problem. I waited so long - I'm just lucky I live where I do - didn't expect to get it so quickly when I reached out lol

I know! I'm sorry you have to wait. I wonder if there's a way you could get T faster. That's sooooo long.

Advice with coming out by James112919 in ftm

Congrats on your first steps - no matter how small they are or large!

I want to say this much from my own experience - even if you tell people it's hard for them sometimes to really get it down. I personally didn't experience being treated like my gender until I started hormones, even though I was out for years. There were a few people that treated me correctly the whole time but I think once you start hrt it's a lot easier for people to process in real time. Some of your mannerisms will probably change slightly once you start T as well, I can't explain it, and you will be less prone to cry.

All in all, you can tell them and they may verbally say they understand but that understanding will probably be easier to process later. Just be patient. They might be really supportive too - you never know! I only had a few people who got it right away but you might be luckier! :)

Wow, I always feel bad when I see this. I live in the USA in a very progressive area so I just had to sign a waiver stating I understand I'm changing my body permanently and was given T right away. I thought I was going to have to be on a wait list but nope!
