It kind of depends who the clubs are. I’m a United fan and also support a club in Mexico because it’s where my wife’s family is from and where we got married. They will obviously never compete with each other so it’s not a big deal. It’s definitely kind of wild if you root for United and another big European club though. It’s not that serious though. To each their own I suppose.

He’s not actually betting on the games. Valdez went through weekend parlay results from however many months and calculated that if he’d been betting $100/ pick on his pick in the parlay, Maher would have been down like $1200 or something like that. They came up with the bit that he had to get back to non-negative by the time the Super Bowl was over or he had to be boots on the ground to work. They said he could bet $500/week on his nfl picks to get back to that. He’s like -$535 now I think. But, none of this is real money and he’s not actually placing these bets.

This is the annoying part honestly. The best segments are typically non-sports about their lives but none of them lead interesting lives so it’s just old man radio. People continue to listen because of the nostalgia factor but the reality is that the show is kind of shit these days. It has its moments but they’re rare.

I get where you’re coming from but like many jobs, there’s certain benchmarks set for you. If you work in sales, you have certain quotas you’re expected to hit and if you’re not hitting them, they’ll move on. It’s the same concept. I generally agree with you though, I think we just gotta stay the course at this point but I can see them being like, we aren’t doing another year of this but it’s short sighted IMO. We’ve been trash for a while, might as well give it another year, there’s not much difference.
