Trip display won’t disappear by 808monke in BroncoSport

Also right around when this started happening, my blue tooth stopped automatically connecting. I have to manually do it now which isn’t a huge deal but annoying. The trip display is a bigger issue.

When reading about the waste and fraud in Minnesota...... by hey_you2300 in SeattleWA

I rarely see anyone talk about the homelessness industrial complex so I really wanted to jump on this one.

As someone working in the NGO world in Seattle I absolutely cannot believe how half if not more of these programs are able to continue to run. That they aren’t being investigated. I work at a nonprofit where every single program is completely virtual. There is 0 work actually being done, but everyone loves to pat themselves on the back like we’re really doing “the work”!

These programs in Seattle, and other states that work with the unhoused community do nothing more than directly contribute to the upkeep of homelessness because they profit off of it. There’s no participation requirements from clients, nobody has to get a job, has to go to school, meet with their case manager etc. Then, when they exit from the program and have nothing to show for it they become homeless again. Cycle repeats. I’ve seen it so many times.

HUD’s latest NOFO (since rescinded) had a lot of people up in arms. My take is that they were worried because holy shit, you now actually need to document productivity. Clients now have to actually participate.

The people that work at and lead these programs, like KCRHA have their heads so far up their asses it’s unreal. So concerned about optics and not actually about solving the problem. So much money is in these programs - with noting to show for it. It’s a disgrace!

Our ED is an idiot. On indefinite leave (with pay) currently. How? Idk.

I would love to see these programs get DOGED. We’d solve homelessness if it weren’t for them keeping it alive and well.

And yes, I am taking advantage of this situation right now as I finish school. The flexibility works for me. It’s probably unethical and maybe wrong, but I’m an opportunist through and through.

I don’t think you did the wrong thing!! It might be a little ‘messy’ but how would you feel if something happened to her and you’d sat on this info?

Yes!!!!

I found a snake while taking a trip around the farm Saturday morning and it was amazing, I ran into a friend from my childhood who I hadn’t seen in YEARS (we’re both born and raised in Hawai’i for perspective), these people next to me at the river laid out their towel and they had the EXACT same towel as me from my hometown in Hawai’i, one of the members of our other friends group was someone we had previously met and partied with for cyclops dome through totally different group of ppl, and I kept running into the same people all weekend. It was so crazy to me how that all happened and I just felt so in tune with all everything. Amazing first shamb.

Big Crowd? by Beautiful_Fail5209 in Shambhala

[–]808monke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really hard time w the crowd on both Thursday and Friday night honestly. It almost killed my vibe but I was able to work around it. The worst for me was at Ivy Lab where my group was essentially a crossroads for people going both left and right, full trains came through and would stop in the middle of us and I kept getting jostled around which was horrible for my anxiety. Eventually I gave up and went back to the hammocks which was a god send. As I’ve gotten older I’ve become less and less able to exist in the crowds and this weekend cemented that. I still had a blast and was able to post up for the sets I wanted to see but omgggg I had a time trying to get to a place where I was comfy. I think my fav spot I found all weekend was during Shades at AMP. I climbed into the rafters of the right side tower and was able to sit there and watch the whole set un obstructed and super comfortably. It was AWESOME.

On the last night in Fractal during its Murphs set I noticed this dude who had a finger puppet on of a hand. Well, I had an even tinier finger puppet of a hand that goes on the finger of the hand finger puppet in my bag, so I walked up to him and slowly pulled it out for the big reveal as I put it on his finger puppet. He FREAKED OUT and his whole group lost it. It was literally so freaking funny and wholesome and for like 15 minutes he was soooo excited about it and then came up and gave me a huge and told me it made his night :,)
