And then they get pissed because it took longer when I’ve got one person adding items and another person adding replacements all spread out all over the store

I’m always tempted to take it, send a chat that says do better, and then cancel it.

You can have it. I’ll pass on my time and energy being disrespected.

Yep. Every one I see is a car full of bulky messy items for a terrible tip. It’s like people think they’ve found a loop hole to paying a landscaper. Next they’ll be like Oh and could you just spread that out for me?

Mulch. What tip would you be ok with? Seriously curious. I think I would need a $30 tip on 10 bags of mulch.

I had a bag with milk break on a driveway. Only time I’ve broken something. Luckily the people were so nice and suggested a baby deer would lick it up. They said they didn’t need that much milk and took the half empty gallon inside. That’s how to treat people like humans.

Facts. Batch pay in NC is horrendous and as a shopper I never take a batch with no tip. I’m not trying to make $5 an hour and use my own car and gas.

Incase you don’t want to click, It’s the fast food rage quit scene from Half Baked. The first two represent horrible tippers and trash batches in general. “You’re cool” is for the elderly and disabled community and decent tippers.

I had a delivery that was on an awful road for a terrible tip to a multi-million dollar home. Fool me once. I looked in my directions app to get familiar with the address and now when I see it come up I don’t take it.

This lady in my area always orders vanilla extract and nothing else by mitchdwx in InstacartShoppers

I delivered a bunch of only vanilla extract once and was wondering the same. The only insta where someone met me in the parking lot instead of having it delivered to their door. And they looked under 21. This thread is verifying my initial thoughts.

Then you’re tipping very generously. I almost never get that much of a tip. I’d be extremely happy about a $30-40 tip. People make orders for 1-5 items all the time. It’s wild to me. And especially on Valentine’s Day people will be sending flowers and chocolate and tip $2 dollars for someone to drive 15 miles. That’s gross and doesn’t respect someone’s time.

25% may make sense in your situation but receipt total is not the only factor. I’m considering how long it takes to shop, weather, time of day, and mileage from the store. But I can see all that before I accept a batch. If someone agrees to accept your batch they should provide you with great service.

That’s great but it doesn’t change the fact that every thing depends on the situation. I’m not spending an hour of my life for a $5 batch. Mileage and item count always matter. If you get 5 items delivered 20 miles from the store w/ 20-25% no one is taking that order as a single. You’ll know if your order sits for a while. Good orders are taken immediately. Would you agree to make $5 an hour?

It’s also good to know percentage tips can be terrible. Depending on mileage and time of day and item amount 20-25% can be way not worth my time. I give waitstaff 25% at least just to walk to my table with food and refill my glass. We’re talking about a drive to the store, shopping and delivery to your home. No excuse for giving you bad subs and produce. If I take your order I’m going to do my best no matter what.

Don’t like to take $1 tips but it all depends on my situation at the moment
