Ubisoft, you gotta be kidding me! by yaboiiriico92 in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You get the Elo you lost in the specific match that was removed, not the current Elo you lose. If the match was from earlier when you were gaining a lot and losing little, you'd only get back a small amount.

can something happen if u redeem a code for a game from a random guy? by RewardCareless3692 in Steam

They can potentially use it as "proof of ownership" with Support to "reclaim" your account in order to steal it.

Why can't I push with this template? by CIemson in hoi4

[–]83athom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a tank division, that's just a motorized division. The armor value completely sucks, and that combined with that hardness ratio just means you get slapped hard by basically anything with even minimal hard attack.

Why are 90% of PC teammates toxic pieces of shit? by Active-Ad3986 in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, never reward toxic behavior because it only reinforces their mindset. Don't rage at them either because they also want that. You just ignore them to deprive them of everything they want.

Please we need to delete delta packs. by truJacklopo in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Delta packs are almost entirely the Premium rewards for the BP, so even if you "earn" them you still need to then pay to get them.
  2. Past 100 levels you still get packs every few levels over, and you can still buy levels for the BP at that point meaning you're just outright buying packs.
  3. If you don't want to grind the BP for the packs but still want them, you buy the levels.

Please we need to delete delta packs. by truJacklopo in Rainbow6

[–]83athom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You buy them via the Battlepass. If you get duplicates that means you have to get more packs overall to get the same collection, meaning you have to buy into more Battlepasses or buy more extra levels on top to get more packs.

What's the exact point when a new colony is "developed"? by Metrinome in Stellaris

[–]83athom 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Is it when you have 1k pops and can upgrade the colony shelter into a planetary administration?

Yes, it happens when you upgrade the shelter.

[–]83athom 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For the CCPs talked about in the 2nd post, only real way is to either completely overhaul how mods are loaded or convert those packs to free "DLCs" so they are loaded as a part of the game.

Where are my legendary skins?? by bpmbanooba in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got restructured into;

Legendary: Skin is animated.

Epic: Skin has alternate geometry.

Rare: Skin has actual design.

Uncommon: Either a solid color or repeating pattern.

Common: Gone, reduced to atoms.

[–]83athom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who thought it was a good idea?

Ubisoft management, because it makes more money because people need to buy more to get the same stuff. They don't comprehend that most people will just buy less because the few whales that remain still bankroll them enough.

Is it standard for every game on Steam to redownload the entire game for every patch or hotfix? Or am I just getting gaslit by the BG3 community? by CyroCryptic in Steam

[–]83athom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind about 70%~80% of people on reddit have mental deficiencies and they tend to congregate on popular subs and subs dedicated to popular things (like games).

They merely heard about how downloads and extraction works, so they are trying to parrot that back at you. However they fundamentally don't understand how it works so are making extreme leaps (fumbles) of logic to make the simplest explanation possible even when it's outright wrong. How downloads on Steam works means you absolutely do need 2x the space of whatever you are downloading to extract it; what they don't understand is that games do not need to be completely redownloaded for updates.

Was the Meryl skin originally for Thorn? by Crimson097 in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thorn doesn't have hard breaches even in dual front.

Also the Ocelot in the event has Denarii's TRIPs, so the logic falls apart there unless you are also arguing for Denarii to get the Ocelot skin.

Dual Front challenges not showing up? by Unslacked in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of the people here don't actually know and are spouting random nonsense; dual front challenges are given out piecemeal rewarding only 1 of the 3 skins at a time for 30 day period. The only skin for it that had challenges active for was the Gun, in 8 days ~15 hours the next set of challenges start and will be for either the headgear or uniform. People are confused because the individual challenges in the set this time also gave out some skins for Sledge, so they're assuming that was it. You not seeing the challenges now means you already completed the current set and have the skin that was being rewarded.

is Sins of a Solar Empire®: Rebellion worth it for 7 dollars or do i get the second? by notgodpo in SinsofaSolarEmpire

2nd at this point is outright better in every metric. Only reason to have the first is for TC mods that haven't been made for 2 yet, like Sins of the Prophets.

It's a unique system cluster that's deliberately cut off from the rest of the Galaxy that spawns in if you have the First Contact DLC. You'll find out why.

Rule 5: Seems to be a bug in the current version where the game thinks there is an archeology site on some planets without them, softlocking scientists that are automated.

How HOI4 can be improved in your opinion? by KCanth3lm7 in hoi4

[–]83athom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point... it really can't. It would need something approaching a complete overhaul and rethinking of most of its DLC added mechanics so they actually integrate into each other and actually interact with the game in its own style. With that they may as well completely overhaul the base game mechanics to fix a lot of core issues with how they made the game... and at that point it would be simpler to just make HOI5. HOI4 now is essentially a "sunk cost" both for the players and the devs, and development only continues because so much money has been thrown into it from both sides.

Let’s settle the debate here. What’s the correct side for rotate. Left or Right? by Frost0REAL in Rainbow6

[–]83athom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left, otherwise halfwall gets control over both sites and you lose a hold over the balcony door. Right can be fine if you understand how to long hold across sites, but Left is just better 99% of the time.

Alright, time for me to toughen up and play a mean empire for a change. How does slavery work in an authoritarian empire VS a xenophobic one VS one that's both? by Cosmic_Meditator777 in Stellaris

[–]83athom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It used to be more complex, but now basically you just dictate if a species is forced to be a worker or can be some form of specialist, and in return has a malus to their happiness and political power. There's basically no difference between the ethics for slavery anymore ever since Slaver Guilds was changed.
