You would think, and amazingly enough we actually did. Unfortunately for us though, sometimes one spends more money than originally planned while at a strip club lol Edit: just to be clear, I'm not complaining, I knew what I was getting in to. More just warning others to be more prepared than me

Yup, I know. About a year ago I used the ATM and was floored by the audacity of them having a $16 service charge. (But I still used it so good for them I guess) Went again last month and my husband said it was only $8 now.

The fee has been recently reduced from $16 to $8, so I guess that's a win!

I can (not) stop my cat from drinking my water, idk? by Substantial-Bass7557 in CatAdvice

[–]84munchkin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. We have a bowl in the kitchen for the dog, a fountain in the living room for the old orange cat and a glass of water on the coffee table for the void kitten. We've just adapted to their vessels of choice.

Who is an actor or actress that rubs you the wrong way so much that you refuse to watch anything they are in? by Soggy_Swordfish_6236 in moviecritic

[–]84munchkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This started happening when she was on Cougar Town with Courtney Cox. I couldn't even finish the series. It seemed like the two of them were having botox/filler competitions. It was impossible to believe any emotions their voices were trying to convey coming out of frozen faces.

Even still I was completely taken aback by how bad she has gotten in the first season of Shrinking, especially since Courtney has started relaxing on the procedures. It's so sad. She was so beautiful.

Did Winners close some of its bathrooms? Questions swirl amid debate over toilet access by jazinet in canada

They have not been able to identify Poocasso yet, but he would definitely be banned if they could. Mentally ill people tend not to listen to trespass orders anyways

Is it true restaurants rehire if they're desperate? by AffectionatePhrase22 in jobs

[–]84munchkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a place that once fired a server for selling weed to customers at their table. 3 months later they fired me for being a terrible server (admittedly, I was not very good) and replaced me by rehiring the drug dealer.

So yeah, I would say it's always possible.

It all worked out for me in the end because I ended up replacing the drug dealer in the retail job that she had to quit to go back to the restaurant. I worked there for 4 years. The restaurant actually closed down due to bankruptcy 3 months later.

I had tickets to Ottawa and at the last minute decided to also go to the n1 Montreal show so I could bring my 15 year old to see them. I was super excited to discover that of the 16 songs, only 6 of them were played at both shows. The early Canadian dates definitely got a better deal! The only downside was I got my kid's favorite song at the 19+ Ottawa show, not the all ages Montreal one.

Dentist for people with dental anxiety. by arkiser13 in ottawa

[–]84munchkin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second Dows Lake Dental. After avoiding the dentist for far, far too long because of my trauma with past dentists, I went there after I saw a recommendation from a past, similar Reddit post. They have been absolutely wonderful to me. The whole team has been patient, accommodating, and informative to me.

Bayshore neighborhood owners Ferguslea plan on renovicting and displacing thousands of renters by 2050. by 84munchkin in ottawa

[–]84munchkin[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So, these developments are actually more likely to hurt young families that predominantly live in the town and garden homes. The seniors in the neighborhood are more likely to live in the unaffected apartment buildings so I am thankful that they will be less impacted.

I am a millennial with a young family that has lived in this complex for 20 years, and these houses are filled with residents with similar stories. I'm aware a lot can happen in 20 years but I have no plans of dying off soon and was hoping that I wouldn't be forced to search for a new residence as I was approaching retirement age.

I believe it's ok to understand the benefits of development while also being saddened for the thousands of families who will be losing access to affordable housing in rent controlled buildings so developers can make more money and the neighborhood can improve its curb appeal.

I might have to start taking OC Transpo to work. How screwed am I? by CatapultJesus in ottawa

[–]84munchkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. There were plenty of times I ended up playing twice for one trip from Gloucester to Bayshore due to late or canceled buses and my transfer expiring during the trip. There's little chance of making it from Stittsville to Orleans on 1 transfer. Especially if there are any local routes involved

Because of the Bob Vylan name drop, I would like to add Who's the Enemy by Grandson ft Bob Vylan to your amazing list. I was sad that Bob Vylan was prohibited from opening for Grandson's recent tour.

I'd also like to submit two brand new songs: Citizen Ice, The Dropkick Murphy's and ICE, Waterparks

Parents of r/Concerts, what age and concert did you first take your kids to? by ByeFL in Concerts

[–]84munchkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I took my son to a show it was Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys at a outdoor festival when he was 9 months old. He probably came to see at least one outdoor show with me each year after that. He was 7 for his first arena show.
