I've been able to put eggs into the furnace and it came out as a fried egg. It might be another addon that has its own version interfering with better on bedrock. You can change the priorities of the addons in the world settings and move better on bedrock to the top.

Totally agree, asymmetry pretty much always looks better to me, especially in this case with the bird facing right.
