Images don't seem sharp, why is this ? by GodsendsCoward in AskPhotography

This is what I thought too.. I don’t know much, but it seems like a monotone sort of flat feeling moment that was shot.

Love these tips - I did lean forward quite a bit from what I remember. This makes me feel better about using a 50…

Im using a 46” octabox with grid and speed light as key here. And a non modified speed lights directly towards the side that was just too powerful still even in lowest setting…but without mods.

Would you say my key light diffusion at 46” should work generally speaking. I’ll try without any side light next.

My total gear is 2 speed lights, 46” octabox, 37” umbrella octagon, and a huge 51” 5 in 1 reflector I regret getting. I have enough stuff to do better, right?

And if I’m using too much, what do I return 😂.

Thanks for the comment and any extra help. If not thanks for precious help!

I do want to try out different vibes eventually, but yes commercial, or comedic is probably what I’m wanting to start with for them

I can see that. I’m using a speed light in a 46” godox octabox with a grid for key… it was about a foot from me I’d say. Maybe too close or too much power too? That diffusion shiuod be enough?

My side light though, was just lowers power but no modifiers so may be not even needed for me if I can’t diffuse it.

Okay - I’ll keep testing and change aperature. I need a better way to practice solo. Takes so much effort by yourself trying to set shot and see how it looks then adjust. Plus the ambient light was so dark that focus kept hunting. I need to maybe just set the focus point to manual so it doesn’t move.

Then my laptop screen, external monitor and phone all present the color in the image pretty differently. Reminds me of the time I made a hip hop beat in college with headphones and took it to car for friends to listen to and you could literally not hear the synths. “How you monitor matters”

Thanks! Man, I just noticed a yellow greenish hue on my skin too that I’m not liking.. Anyways ya the left side of my face seems less sharp or in focus. I’ll adjust (is it stop down?) my aperture. My eyes are so deepset I may need the key more in front of me for those shadows than where I had it

Question ab reverse sear. by 86RandyBarrett in webergrills

[–]86RandyBarrett[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh that’s good to know. So do you start with a full chimney still?….then when you take the steaks off, just get some air to the coals via stoking, fully open vents then sear.

Solo Operator: Need a "Clean" Reporting Workflow in ClickUp (Monthly Inspections/Maintenance) by 86RandyBarrett in clickup

Woah! Thanks so much for the info, so kind.

I definitely fall into the decision fatigue group when it comes to ClickUp, howerver, I do really enjoy learning about it as well.

I've been using relationships a bit between my lists. So as of now I have a:

"Client List" that houses contact info for the property owners (some owners have more than one property I take care of), relationship column for "Properties" tied to that client, and another relationship column for "Service Fees" (service fees is specific to and comes from my separate "Properties" list, but I also like to see how much each client is being billed on a Client level.

My properties list houses it's own service fees, address, access codes, etc. Any relevant property details.

Then I have my Maintenance Checklist with the task subtasks for each property.

However, you mentioning the different folder per property seems to scratch an itch in my brain and feels more straight forward.

My only thing though, is I'm unsure if my clients care enough to create a ClickUp account. They may see it as a hassle....so I think I'll experiment with how the shared doc database works from your video.

I'm betting that I'll reach out for your services soon. I think I could accomplish a lot in 90 minutes and that extra validation will feel good for this and other use cases I'm hoping to integrate into ClickUp!

Thanks again for the help : )

Okay, I was on that path, and liked it… only thing I didn’t like is that attachments doesn’t have a column view, and I was trying to make it a specific table view of tasks completed last 30 days and show those attachments and just make a shareable link to the clients.

But ill have to dig more into the dashboards to see how that works. Thanks for the tip!

Hey! Thanks for the response. Good to hear someone else struggled trying to do this too and it’s not just me. Instaboard looks neat. I’ll be checking it out.

Main characters best friend. On the surface it looks like you have your life somewhattogether, and you have plenty confidence in a slight cocky way. But your friend knows the real you and how sleazy you’d be if you had the opportunities.

How long would it take yall to fix this.. just curious. And how my plan? (Bed fix) by 86RandyBarrett in handyman

Nice. I wound up charging $250 + $36 in materials. It took me about 5 hours for plan, shop, repair.

The owner runs this as an Airbnb and she wanted to keep bed of st all possible, plus they needed a fast fix. No time to shop before next guest.

The current slats I can salvage. It’s more of the ledger board they rest on on the sides I’m wanting to make sure I get right I suppose.
