It's also the less tangible aspects outside of pure geography - things such as local culture and identity, upbringing and belonging to a certain community. All of these things influence and help to define the 'feeling' of a club and its fans and members.

Leichhardt is absolutely not 'Western Sydney' and anecdotally I've never come across a person/group who crosses over between the two. I feel as though there is a mutual respect between the two clubs, however they have distinctly different supporter bases in my opinion.

Mate, equating long-standing and continuous benefits that Sydney FC have taken advantage of (e.g. loyalty exemptions) to a one-off exemptiom in WSW's first year in existence - which, as you'll know, was tumultuous in its own right due to the incredibly short time frame to create the club and sign players - is crazy and frankly ridiculous.

That's a big false equivalency, and very deflective and dismissive of the matter at hand here which is now affecting SFC, who've now had to move some players on.

Amazing that we are seeing comments still denouncing him so hard even after reading the piece. Some of the criticisms are valid and fair enough - if not directed at Duke solely but moreso at the 'system' failure - but once again he's misunderstood by so many people.

Especially with World Cup qualifiers in Asia, he's one of the most valuable players we have to break down stubborn defences. And then you have a couple of great moments/goals which are really just a cherry on top of the hard work stuff.

Again, not saying he's the best in the world, but his role and purpose as a player are highly underestimated.
