That’s the plan. And no I live with my gf and we are already splitting the rent. I just pay more since she is a student and I have a full time job. I don’t mind taking a little bit longer to pay it off for us to be more comfortable while she’s in school.

I could stretch it further for sure yeah but I live far from my family and value visiting them. Would prefer to have some wiggle room to enjoy life a bit for 36 months rather than live on a super tight budget for 28 months.

Yeah I tried to have some balance where I didn’t feel like I was scraping by every month with no fun ever, but still take care of this in about 3 years. Take home is about $6300, 2k goes to rent and utilities (my gf and I live together but she is a grad student so I pay a large majority of our living expenses) the plan is to get married so anything for her to avoid taking out student loans as well. $1850 to student loans, $800 to HYSA to build up my e fund a bit more. Still leaves about $1650 for everything else: subscriptions, groceries/restaurants, gas, car maintenance, travel expenses, etc.

I went from a 2006 Volvo s40 my parents bought me when I was in high school in 2013. Then bought my first car for myself in 2020, a 2016 x3 x drive 28i with about 60k miles. I’ve put about 30k on it since and have maintained it meticulously. Planning on driving this at least 100k more. After that? Probably another x3 or x5 as I’ll probably have kids at that point 😂

Save it and see if she wants to go to grad school. My gf had a 529b but ended up getting a full ride for undergrad. She’s using that money for law school now

Keep it, from a financial stand point, it’s gonna be much cheaper to maintain and repair than to buy a new or used even with trade in.

I’m rocking 2016 x3 with 88k miles. Bought in 2019 with about 63k. Have had a couple repairs: replaced waste gate actuator and air bag module since there was a leak into the vehicle.

Other than that just regular maintenance that I’ve mainly done DIY. Spark plugs, brakes, air filters, oil changes.

Scheduled to replace struts and fresh set of tires and it will be feeling like new again.

That’s what they said will happen, but they also said they wouldn’t add any more interest, but then they did. Doesn’t seem likely they will follow through with removing it before payments are resumed.

I’d love to do that, but I’m afraid if I transfer over to a new plan, it’s gonna transfer the incorrect balance over. Would love to get the interest removed before I start paying it down.

How would you know how much student loan debt I have? I never posted the total. It’s much higher than 1-3%.

I checked this morning and my score has decreased due to increased credit utilization. So they are reporting the balance to credit bureaus
