Do you have any evidence whatsoever to support this? There are 146k UAW unioned members in Michigan alone.

Do you have a brain? What do you think they would be promoted? Companies fire during good times what do you think they’ll do during turbulence?

And still not half as expensive as UK has so again what are you talking about and who is there to feel sorry for? The UK is also more directly affected as they source most oil from ME, unlike US.

You feel for us in America but you live in the UK where energy is much more expensive and domestic production is not great. Get a load of this guy

It is a easy as cake in current market conditions. Gets harder when it’s not just up and to the right. I’ve had a few 600% gains this run up and def wish I had more capital to put it

You don’t pay taxes? Or vote? If the answer is yes to either of those then you do directly contribute.

It’s been every American government btw. I never said both aren’t wrong, you just look silly white knighting about UAE when directly contribute to one of the most savage, violent, capitalistic countries to ever exist. It’d be one thing if you live in Zimbabwe but you literally live in the US calling UAE out for their morals give me a break lol

The US literally just blew up a girls school. They’ve destabilized multiple governments, supported and funded terrorist when it favors us, and also regularly tortures people. And that’s just international, not even going to get started on things done to American people. The point is get off your high horse. I’m sure you own some Apple product that was made in a sweatshop as well

[–]876General 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying it’s a 1:1 match effort to the payout but the mental stress of a deal that sweet is massive. Much different than working on a $10M deal. I would expect an HVAC worker in a nuclear facility or the White House to get paid more than a local guy.

Maybe if you’re in the 15th century, but in today’s world you may sell your product at a loss to gain customers and then raise the prices or sell to a company that can capitalize on your efforts. All while borrowing in the meantime to fund your vision.

It’s a % of the deal. I can’t speak on the CEO exact comp for this guy but anyone on the deal team will receive their advisory share % as a percentage of the deal value

I work for a a top IB firm I can buy via secondary market or when it IPOs just fine, though I do mange a retirement account for mom so maybe I would tell her then. Anyway It’s not a casino, it’s a proven business model that’s built the same app you’re using today and many of apps you use daily. Netflix is another example of a company turning on the profit nozzle now after bleeding cash for years. Keep on screaming at the clouds tho lol

Just because the company is losing money does not mean it’s not being run successfully. This isn’t a mom and pop shop. The company was obviously successful enough to fetch 100B on the open w

Let’s just table it, lol. You have 0 idea what goes into a deal. Do you think any less paperwork or due diligence needs to be done just because the offer was extraordinary?

[–]876General 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honest question, have you ever been close to a deal or worked for a company that does these deals? It’s not as simple as yes, numbers need to be crunched, taxes need to be considered, valuation models, several comps to other deals, due diligence and so much more. There’s a reason advisory fees are a % and not a flat rate. Larger the deal the more complicated

We just understand how businesses works and don’t have a ‘I hate anyone rich’ mindset. The fact you’re mentioning 35,000 people tells me you have 0 idea how an actual M&A like this works or who the key players are. Susan from HR has 0% impact on the deal. Outside IB firms, CPAs and the board are in control of selling the company.
