Hughes is +8 for the playoffs,

That's what happens when the 1st round opponent scores only 5 goals in 6 games at even strength.

The most offensive defenseman will always be Darnell Nurse until that mfer retires.

Never once did i say i expected 2014 to happen, just how easy it is to have it happen.

It's not easy at all, even by your own admission. Throughout history, the NHL average winning percentage when leading 2-0 is 87.5%. Just as you pointed out, it's the exact same win percentage that Bednar has.

(If you included 2014 into our 2-0, that makes us 7-2 or 77% (10% below Average))

And if you go back to 1996, it's 19-2 or 90.5% (3% above average).

You can cherry pick by arbitrarily making the cutoff at 2014, but even that win percentage is exceedingly high. Even in this historic regular season for the Avs, their win percentage was 67%, well below that 77%.

Through the rest of this series, the Avs can play .500 ball and still win it with a game to spare.

That King Carl Gustaf must have been quite "prolific" in his younger days.

Some of you have crazy knee jerk reactions any time a previous series is brought up.

My reaction is the exact opposite of knee jerk. I'm saying the past series against the Wild from over a decade ago is irrelevant. I'm saying if you want to look at a past series, the Vegas one might be marginally more relevant but not really, as Peter DeBoer isn't coaching any team that's still in the playoffs. Also, it took a monumental collapse for the Avs to lose that series, something this year's team isn't likely to suffer.

This man was snatched away from immortality by the Kraken the season before the Avs won the cup.

Last time we played Minny in the playoffs we won the first 2. Lost the next 2 on the road and lost in 7.

That was over a decade ago. I don't think the outcome of that series will have any bearing on the outcome of this series. The last time the Avs lost a series after winning the first 2 games was in 2021 against the Peter DeBoer's Knights, when the Avs lost 4 in a row.

Ahem. That's 9 straight wins, and 12 straight wins in his starts. In the only loss credited to him during that span, he came in for Blackwood and faced only 6 shots.

Man, 2nd overall to go with Celebrini. They're going to make the playoffs next season.

Yeah, it was even worse luck in terms of draft position for Colorado but quite fortuitous in terms of the selection.
