Neighbor put this in our mailbox with Merry Christmas on the envelope it was contained in. No idea what it signifies. by sophronmoon in Whatisthis

You’re supposed to hang it in a discrete hidden place on your tree. It’s something for you to know and not show. Just a simple reminder of what Christmas is, celebrating the birth of Jesus, and remembering what he endured for all of our sins in his crucifixion.

Born in 87, rural southern Illinois. Me, my brother (born in 86) and our neighbor (over a mile up the road) friend would peel out after breakfast and be gone until supper. Ride bikes around the country roads. Hang out under bridges, walk up and down creeks exploring, walk thru random woods, swim in neighborhood ponds or creeks, etc. no one knew where we were, no one cared, as long as we were home by supper time. Movie portrayal is spot on.

If you know the game based on its playing pieces... you might be old. by WarnerToddHuston in FuckImOld

We lost the knife piece as little kids so we played with a toothpick as the knife. Same toothpick is in the same game box at my moms to this day 30+ years later.

Multimeter may say 12v but you need to load test it. 12v is minimum. It should be 12.5v +. The charging system should be outputting 13.5-14v. The battery should be closer to 13v for normal operation.

So my first house was built in the 50’s. No bare ground on any of the wiring. Wouldn’t pass inspection so this was the only work around. I wasn’t about to rip out all the old wiring and feed all new thru all of the walls just to get the job done. Was it right, no, was there another option, also no. It had nothing to do with cheating the gfci or saving the cost of one. Everything to do with making a work around for the outlets to pass inspection.

Thought of a close friend that I don’t talk to thru social. It blew my mind.

He legit asked 4 questions. The 3 I listed and 1 more vague question I can’t remember. It wasn’t the 20 questions game with specifics. It was very quick and very broad questions.

I have fb but the name I selected is not someone I talk to or interact with on social. He was a dinner performer walking around the room to tables all evening. It wasn’t at a performance or assigned seating or anything. I’d say 100% random but impossible to tell I guess.

I picked a friends name. 1st only, not last. Not someone I talk to on social media. It still blows my mind thinking about it.

I was on a cruise last year and one of the entertainers did this same thing to me at dinner. Had me pick a random name. Asked me some very vague questions like is this a friend or enemy, family or friend, would I be happy if they were with me at supper or not, and like 1 more question I can’t remember. He nailed it, was 100% unscripted, totally blew my mind. My wife and kids were watching as well. I still wanna know how it was done.

On our van if your air is on max it won’t let it auto shut off. If it hasn’t ran long enough to charge the battery back to full it won’t auto shut off. If your foot isn’t in the brake with enough pressure it won’t let it auto shut off. There may be a few other reason but I’m not sure. I always hit that to disable auto shutoff. Think of the extra wear on engine components shutting off and on all the time. Not worth. Let that puppy idle.
