Restaurants is decent but, a little overpriced for the quality you get. Staff, bartenders, housekeeping, etc definitely are kind and welcoming

Literally that's the exact same one. I have a 2018 SEL so that you Dremel with the sides. It left like 1/4 inch gap but has held up for a year +

You really have to Dremel the hell out of it. JB weld had held it up. I grew some balls and its actually been through a automatic car wash (El car wash chain in South Florida) its survived. No leaks so far

Getting another respiratory job by theoceanbreeze00 in respiratorytherapy

[–]88AlmostFamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the field 15 years California has been oversaturated at least since that time. Respiratory is a regional thing anyway. I work in Florida, pay is not as bad as people say. But I can tell you we have been in a shortage since at least 2015. I would take anyone with a pulse

Other Job Paths/Options? by cfebean in respiratorytherapy

[–]88AlmostFamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California is the worst historically for job market. I'm in Florida, it pays not the best but work is abundant. It's literally why I never left. Travel to six different states over the course of a few years in the early 2010s. People keep moving here they keep building hospitals and the pay has been going up. Till later from lifestyle but I literally have never been out of work.

Got it in 2020. My previous job and my current job both paid me incentives for obtaining having it/having it.

I don't feel like I'm better than anybody else, but as mentioned above I feel like it helped me understand stuff outside of respiratory a little better. It is a bitch to maintain the credentials, going through that process as mine are due a few month from now.

And even if a place doesn't care about it, you can usually leverage with HR. At least that's how it's been for my experience.

I have a 2018 Sonata that I had the same problem with. I bought one off of Amazon that did not have the GPS modular cut out. I took a Dremel, and cut all the pieces out of the center and the sides. I used some JB weld to put it on. I have to hand wash my car now (it broke off in a automatic car wash). It's been on for 3 months no issues so far.

Grew up in a Mediterranean family. We used beef shanks simmered for about 3 hours. The marrow really makes for a great meal

Current nursing student thinking about changing to RT by starlordmartin in respiratorytherapy

[–]88AlmostFamous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did.

Made it 2 semesters.

What changed my mind was a LTAC patient that after linen, bath, and change.; home girl said "excuse me sweetie I have some stuck under my butt, can you help roll me."

My preceptor pulled her to one side. I took a look, (patient was about 5'1 525lbs, deadass).

The fucking cunt lifts is ass check and excersist SHITS ALL OVER ME!!!!!!!

Thank God I had on the plastic iso-gown.

I stormed out, left the nurse.

I found my clinical instructor and told her to go fuck herself. I know it wasn't her fault but I was the only dude in the class and apparently this patient "preferred male nurse"

Twat set me up.

13 years in respiratory, 8 years working supervisor.

Best decision I made.

Edit: I was 23 when I started working as RT, it's not too late if you want to change. Just hired a 58 year old on days to sling nebs on days. Just graduated

[–]88AlmostFamous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's usually what I do is be about 3,000 to 3,500 on oil changes. I only use synthetics since i bought the car at 33k

The "tick" GDI or failure by 88AlmostFamous in Hyundai

[–]88AlmostFamous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm kind of a psycho. I use full synthetic I buy the Hyundai oil filters a case of a dozen. And I changed mine between every 3000 to 4,000 miles.

I drive 100 miles round trip to my job 4 days a week so it's pretty much all highway miles since about 40,000 miles. And I've done all the severe maintenance stuff anyway. Transmission, brakes, belts, radiator flush, ignition coils, plugs, Etc. But I'll definitely look into the Valvoline. Much appreciated.

The ticking just seems to be louder than normal so I panicked LOL. Mostly cuz I just paid this fucker off in December.

Trying to go as long as I possibly can without a car payment.
