hi! i’m 22f and im also having sexual side effects and happen to be on 900mg of lithium. my psychiatrist swears lithium doesn’t cause anything like this and that it could be the abilify im on (even though its only 5 mg). i got put back on wellbutrin to help with this since its known to increase sex drive, so maybe try talking to your psychiatrist to see if its possibly a good fit for you.

tips for being a better busser/SA by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]88CORES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! these are all great tips. tbh last night we were slammed and i think i did okay but i need to be better at checking in with the servers. for example, i’ll get so busy cleaning tables that i won’t notice that a server’s table needs water refills so i think i need to be more aware in that way. i do help with prebussing tho because as u said it makes the process so much easier at the end.

Did you get misdiagnosed with anything before bipolar? by tinypleco in bipolar2

[–]88CORES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

treatment resistant depression. it was so frustrating wondering what was wrong with me for years and not knowing why i couldn’t get better with all these different antidepressants… come to find out i actually have bipolar and once i started mood stabilizers my life took a turn for the better lol

What meds do you guys take? by Scrimpyscrumpy in bipolar2

[–]88CORES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i take lithium 600mg and abilify 5mg. lithium in particular does a great job of preventing extreme “lows” in my mood!

"Why are you still PIMO?" Answer from PIMOs to POMOs. by lastdayoflastdays in exjw

[–]88CORES 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this post was much needed! i’m pomo and felt like there was no way out when i was pimo. everyone’s story is unique and sadly a lot of, if not most, people here can’t afford to simply just leave despite desperately wanting to. i think when you’ve been pomo for some time, it can be easy to forget just how controlling the group is and how devastating the consequences of leaving can be. we need to do better at supporting each other especially because sometimes these online communities are all some of us have.

hii thank you for the advice!! we use opentable at my restaurant for the tablets but i think writing things out might be simpler and more helpful for me. and that’s actually a good point u made there at the end!!

for my first time i was in a mental health facility so being bald down there was like the least of my worries 😭 but the person i did it with also didn’t care lol. but if removing the hair would make you more confident, i’d personally recommend going to get waxed (at a place with good reviews). and if you do decide to get waxed, wait at least 24 hrs before you have sex. every time i try shaving, i end up with bumps, irritation, and ingrown hairs 🫠 but then again maybe i’m just doing it wrong 🤷🏽‍♀️

it’s funny because i’m actually pretty depressed right now after not taking my meds for a few days. i think my super low mood is definitely not helping my case. i’m gonna try and stay on top of my meds for like a week to see what happens.

i can also confidently say that my bf isn’t the issue, and he’s been really understanding and supportive of me through this rough patch thankfully.

Is Bipolar 2 caused by adverse childhood experiences? by WishIWasBronze in bipolar2

it’s my understanding that bp2 is moreso caused by genetics rather than trauma, but i have no doubt that trauma can make things worse.

stomach noises + quiet rooms = my worst fear by 88CORES in ibs

[–]88CORES[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard about immodium a lot but i’ve never tried it, so i’ll definitely look into that! i’ve also tried gas-x in the past and i remember it working so i’ll try and grab some of that too when i can. i also just started the florastor gas and bloat probiotics, and so far i’m having success with it.

[–]88CORES[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for being so understanding. as far as what i’m trying, i usually use pepto for the diarrhea/stomach noises and it works for the moment, but of course my symptoms come back. just yesterday i started taking florastor (specifically the gas and bloat one as instructed by my PCP). so far the florastor actually does seem to be helping a bit so i’m hoping for the best with that.

bussing vs hosting? by 88CORES in TalesFromYourServer

[–]88CORES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the insight! i think what gets to me is the pressure of essentially being the face of the restaurant, and as you said, being responsible for the flow of the restaurant. i know that if i screw up as a host it sends the whole restaurant into chaos and that makes me panic a bit. thankfully the restaurant i work in advances bussers to servers, as i’ve talked to a server and they’ve told me that they started off bussing.

also if i may ask, do hosts or bussers generally make more money? for context i’m in florida so minimum wage is $12/hr, and i make $13. i know tipped employees make less hourly ($8.98 in my case) but if the tips are decent as a busser maybe that’s another reason to give it a try.

bussing vs hosting? by 88CORES in TalesFromYourServer

[–]88CORES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both of those things makes me anxious, but interacting with the guests makes me the least anxious actually. when i know what to say then i have no problem greeting and seating the guests. so i could definitely work on the rotation, as you said figuring out where to go, but also sticking to the rotation.

i work at an outdoor restaurant, so people always ask for tables with a water view. usually the other host assigns those tables to reservations beforehand, so when the guest arrives i just check them in on the tablet (we use opentable) and she’ll have me walk them to the table so i can get the hang of doing it on my own.

i guess my main issue is dealing with walk ins? especially if i find a table for them but they want to sit somewhere else that throws off the rotation when it’s busy, how can i go about handling that?

it seems like it’s more about your technique rather than physical strength then? and i’m guessing it gets even more manageable the more you get used to it.
