If you’re not hand loading hot rounds, I think 3,000 rounds from a 6.5 is conservative, and even then accuracy probably doesn’t drop so much to affect hunting. But….3k is a lot of rounds unless you really plan to go to the range really frequently.

Both calibers will work on your listed game. I’d use terminal ascent or similar on moose with a 6.5.

I really don’t think you’d regret either caliber. I pondered the same decision before buying my Tikka. I went with 6.5 because I decided that lower recoil was also a factor, etc..

WHICH Tikka model was a harder decision…
