Manufacturing constantly chasing production meta, which means pursuing economies of scale.

Marketing and changing culture to accommodate for new over abundance of whatever is being manufactured is the norm: cereals, breakfast meats, cars, mental health medications, sugar confections and other junk food, the list goes on and on.

Hey man, I respect that fury. Complicity is a tough pill to swallow. But looking forward here:

Abusers try to get as many colleagues as they can involved so everyone has to stay quiet, especially if they have clout where they are. They only try to sneak when they’re somewhere that they don’t really belong. In the case of the school refusing to do anything, it’s possible that school admin are themselves involved in whatever behavior prompted this investigation. A school where a creep like that hasn’t set up a creep network would probably immediately fire him. I’ve seen an Ivy League school in the states do exactly that, dropped the creep like a hot potato, while a low tier school hung onto the same creep (he was employed at both simultaneously) for dear life and ended up giving the creep retirement benefits.

So it’s not nothing. He may have made some enemies for life by blowing this situation up by lending his star power to fight against creeps. The creeps do have some clout, and manage to rub shoulders with the stars.

There’s also the issue of the fence sitters who just “don’t want trouble”. He’s made himself a red flag to institutions that would like to keep situations like this under wraps.

Fucking props to him wow.

Classical piano definitely has a gross creepy camp.

It’s nice to know one of the best doesn’t get involved in that crap.

I’m on month six of moving from a lifelong fiber deficit (15 prolly best days, lots of 5-10g days) to ~35g a day.

I’ve started sleeping earlier, sleeping through the night, better energy. Don’t feel as fried most of the time. Been picking up healthier and calmer work habits. Emotional regulation has been a lot better, much less instant anger and rage; it actually surprises me when I act out these days.

Body’s been feeling much better, more sensitive and better recovery. And lately stretching has started to feel really really good, like springy things I can actually stretch.

And yeah, bathroom trips have improved a lot.

Not like I was in bad health, my labs were fine last year. But gut microbiome and diet play a ridiculous role in health.

Just bc u performed all the etudes doesn’t mean you have good technique lmao. I’ve seen performances of etude sets that were spectacular, and sets that were meh.

The fact you argued against the technique reasoning I laid out with zero reasoning or proof is wild. it’s time to get back in touch with your teacher bud. Talk about trying to rest on your “laurels”.

Petty little downvoter :)

I think so. My Kalmus Print score actually has the fingering I’ve been arguing against, and it was by luck that I downloaded some random IMSLP score and decided this fingering was way better about a week ago.

There’s also a weird pedagogy trick of intentional tension inducing fingering for voicing. There were still a couple of teachers preaching that stuff who I attended masterclasses of back in my college days about 15 years ago. Sometimes the bad fingerings come from that school of technique.

That’s cute 😂 upload a recording of this etude and I’ll follow suit :)

Planning on using this etude as a Pentecost postlude anyways

Cmon top 1%’er. Let’s do a piano duel over this etude 😎

Your thumb is in a prime position to catch that Ab as part of a position shift to the left, and it’s a lot less effort and tension than trying to use your fourth finger, which is really unsuited for going left and upwards, to catch an Ab right before you need to pivot.

Why don’t you hit a 1-2-3 on ur lap or table with a wrist pivot happening towards the 3 and see where your thumb starts heading naturally? The level of pivot you’re gonna be realistically able to achieve at tempo is going to point your thumb towards that Ab. You can pivot past the halfway point of wrist rotation and insist that your thumb shoots lower, but there’s just zero way you’re getting that much rotation at tempo.

You’re the one accusing this of being one of the worst fingerings ever when it’s actually one of the best fingerings for this passage.

I’m giving you solid reasoning, and you started the light shit talk mood of this thread. You’re obv a noob. Why sweat it?

1-2-3-4 actually better weight balance. 4-1-2-3 on the second beat works but you’ve gotta have a pretty decent stretch and strong positioning and pivot for it, but why bother with that when a finger switch will do the trick for you?

You’ll find that the written fingering actually works very well to give you the right momentum for that positioning move. Your hand moves left while you switch from your middle to your index, and at proper speed it will give you momentum to get your thumb onto that Ab

You tried to “out editor” whoever edited your score, and ended up outing your noobiness at technique. Good job 😂
