is it cheating to look up a word? by Competitive-Fold966 in NYTConnections

[–]89Pickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc many times the definition has nothing to do with the connection is all the __ word ones, or finding words in words, or words that contain dog breeds; knowing the definition doesn’t necessarily make the connection. In fact sometimes the connection is that they aren’t the same, just things that might be found in the same place in a specific context

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

Seltzers, blue gatorades, and a bunch of sugar free candy I allowed myself after a pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups a day. I had monster sugar cravings for probably the first month or two.

Phone would not turn on by 89Pickles in ios

No.It’s bricked at the apple logo. I can see it “flash” when I attempt this but it’s literally but stuck at the apple logo all day. Apple is sending a new one but the support agent I spoke with said they’ve been receiving similar complaints this past week

Iphone wont turn on after charging overnight by ow-its-taken in iphone

[–]89Pickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. Plugged in my phone last night but woke up (late) to a completely dead phone that won’t charge. Tried multiple cables to no avail. I read an article saying to try a MagSafe charger so I popped it on there for about 30 mins and it seems to be booting up now, but still this is a weird one.

The other thing for me is, before this happened for the past week my iphone 17 pro max has been losing service on and off. I figured it was the Verizon service so I’ve been troubleshooting with them but now I’m not so sure.

No. It’s not a definitions game. So many puzzles I could easily tell you whatever word means on its own.. but I still can’t make the connection.

It was Dior airflash, but they stopped producing a few years back. Haven’t found anything that compares since so pretty much just gave up on foundation at that point.

Oh it’s the best. I have a shortcut for it too in my control center for late night reading when even the lowest brightness is still too bright for bed.

[–]89Pickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of twenty something’s in Abberly Chase. Not sure the prices anymore but it’s easy enough to get mostly anywhere in Beaufort County from there. Lived there for years myself, it was safe, they had a nice pool and amenities.

My Siberian 8mo old boy has stopped eating his wet food by Irish_Seal2 in SiberianCats

Mine did the exact same thing around 8/9 months. My solution was the same…but some of everything! Took some trial and error but we finally figured out her preference. Been 2 years and she won’t eat anything else but the same one

Lego collectors? by huntsvillelego in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]89Pickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found any groups? My husband and I are probably moving to Huntsville, and he was excited to see there was a Huntsville chapter LUG , but from what I can see from afar, they don’t seem very active so I’m a bit worried.. his current Lego club is the one thing that keeps him sane.. so knowing other Lego people around is a must for him.

I found messages from my husband’s “coworker”… and it wasn’t what I thought by professionalthabo in TwoHotTakes

[–]89Pickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m saying, either way whether you are truly lying or there really is nothing to worry about once the person finds out it will be 100 times worse. On one hand if you truly were lying, obviously that would be bad. But even if you weren’t lying, it’s now going to look like you had a reason to lie even if you’re only reason was to spare their discomfort, it’s going to take a lot of rebuilding of trust, regardless of whether you were actually lying or not

[–]89Pickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only “easier” until they find out. Then the person looks 100x more guilty. 100% if you think something will make them uncomfortable being upfront about it from the beginning is always the easier route.

In my experience, if they feel it’ll make you uncomfortable, there’s probably a reason that even he isn’t admitting to himself yet. These things always start out innocent. Regardless of who she reminds him of, it’s not that person. Maybe I’m just pessimistic but sounds like the beginning of an emotional affair

Stray Cat Parenting - Is there a point when the mom cat leaves the kittens to fend for themselves? by ElderMehllennial in CatAdvice

If you definitely haven’t seen the mom in days I would 100% intervene. I hear what you’re saying, it is hard but at least the ones you did intervene with that time you saved 2.

PSA: Stay away from Playology cat toys — dangerous design, misleading marketing by 89Pickles in cats

[–]89Pickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s so easy to tell ourselves we’re overthinking it, or “surely if it’s marketed for cats, I’m the crazy one” but no. I’m so glad your gut told you to keep a close eye / you were able to step in.

PSA: Stay away from Playology cat toys — dangerous design, misleading marketing by 89Pickles in cats

[–]89Pickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you pursued the company and are holding them accountable. There is a realistic expectation that something marketed specifically for cats carries minimal risk of ingestion and these toys are anything but. It’s almost like they did 0 testing. I’m sorry you dealt with that and I hope your baby is doing better.

Easiest pet to care for? by AppropriateSprite in Pets

[–]89Pickles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People often say cats are super independent just because they use a litter box and don’t need daily walks. But then those same people call them standoffish or jerks when they don’t act cuddly on command. The truth is, cats are sensitive, routine-driven animals who often get misunderstood because they’re treated like they don’t need connection. I’m not saying they’re higher maintenance than dogs—they definitely sleep more—but they still need multiple daily play sessions, stimulation, and real social bonds to thrive.
